case/bose tribal spear arrived

my Case/Bose tribal spear in antique bone arrived today, my American friend brought it back for me. So I avoided all that postage crap. I'm really happy with it, its the case/bose collaboration that I really most wanted, though a trapper would also be cool. I'm kind of surprised that it is really in my hands now.
Here follows some pron, my camera battery ran empty before I could get any more photos

One thing I don't get about this is the 'chess piece with balls' shield that is pinned into this. I like it because I think it is funny, but that can't have been the reason Tony Bose chose it.

another striking thing is how light this is, it is much lighter than my case trapper for example.

its funny, this knife has much more the feel of a modern folder than a traditional slipjoint. Can't put my finger on why, possibly the light weight and large blade, rather than heavy brass liners and thick bone and carbon steel. I'm not complaining though, it gives me a bit of an idea of what a custom slipjoint might be like...if I can ever afford one.
