Any time I handle a 58 mm model, I feel like I need to get tweezers or hemostats out to use any of the implements...

I'm with JD... my Exec is my most often carried SAK.  If it's not in my pocket, it's clipped onto the zipper tab of the small pocket under the flap of my custom Timbuk2 small messenger, and my Compact is riding in my pocket.

If only the Compact had larger nail file like the Exec, it'd be my no. 1 EDC SAK.
The first Noble Truth: life is suffering.  Only by accepting that fact can we transcend it.

Yep, having a Classic on my car key lets me loose the scissor layer from the Deluxe Tinker and carry a Mechanic instead.

I did have a classic on my keyring and usually one of several liner lock folders in my pocket.

But now being in an office job for a change I can get away with the classic alone as my EDC.  Well, during business hours at least.

Don't use a Classic. On my keyring hangs an alox Drifter.
I have used a Manager/Rambler for some time, great little knives too, but the nailcleaner is nicer on the Drifter, and it adds the warncliffe blade, wich doubles as a toothpick..  :D

I'm with 50ft-trad.....I've got a classic attached to every set of keys I own, and then some. Have an alox too, but really miss the tweezers and toothpick on it.
It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Yes, when my main MT is not a SAK or it doesn't have scissors, I also carry a classic or manager  for the scissors / tweezers and the "friendly" appearance of a knife that I can use everywhere without questions.

I usually have my yellow Classic on my keys or in the watch pocket of my jeans.

I have a Rambler on my keys, and Minichamp in the bag. My primary EDC is a Compact, and for heavy tasks I have LM Wave in the bag.

...

Damn, now I want a Drifter. I see it came out this year. Great tool setup. I wish normal alox Classics came with the regular old not SD nail file. :(

I used to have a Midnight Manager on my car keys, then switched to the Rambler, and now for the last half a year or so the alox classic. I don't use it much, but it's there if I need it.

I think the Alox Classic SD on my keyring is to stay for a while; I used it to replace some signage on a Samsung endcap a couple minutes ago. :tu:

I do like the looks of the Drifter...

Nope :  EDC an Executive and no need for anything else.  Sharp blade, sharper blade, T & T, SCISSORS, light phillips on nailfile, caplifter on "orange peeler".  Plus pen & pin mod.

Does the orange peeler have a caplifter ??

After cutting the notch a little more deep and angled.  Still has the small screwdriver of course.
The scissors work OK as a caplifter too:  from below lift up each crimp.
The screwdriver can do that - on the first beer.  Gets tricky after that. ;)

As a followup: I used my classic SD to install a replacement garage door-opener remote control unit.  My garage door opener is 20 years old, and the remote quit working, and replacement remotes wouldn't work. So my only option other than buying a new opener was to buy a universal remote control replacement unit.

I used the little knife to open the clamshell package (yes, that little knife zipped right through clamshell packaging without a problem.)

I then used the knife to strip the wires.

The screwdriver was used to install the wires into my garage door opener. And the screwdriver also worked for popping open the replacement unit so I could hook up the wires.

It was a minor job, but that's about my speed when it comes to home repairs. The Classic SD worked just fine and saved me the trouble of digging out screwdrivers, wire strippers, and a  knife.

I always have a Black Classic SD on my keys, it's on a quick release clip so I can let someone borrow my 'scissors' without handing over my whole keys. I find that carrying the Classic along with my current favorite, the Farmer, makes a perfect system. The Classic fills in where the Farmer lacks in EDC role; tweezers, toothpick, scissors, small blade. Those two together as a system have not let me down yet. On top of those two I also usually carry a OHO. I try not to let people know I am carrying all three as it looks crazy to most haha.

I always have a classic jelly lite on my keys (for the scissors and the light)!  This complements the tinker I usually carry. Neither are large or obtrusive and you aint gonna get too many complaints from those in authority - unless you wander into an airport or police station with them!  :D

My EDC is a Victorinox Manager lite, or LM Micra, or Gerber Dime, so I would not really gain anything with a classic.. appart from extra weight
