So I'm thinking there's lots of left over basic parts when all these fancy Alox mods get made... anyone want to make me a cheap and simple thing from them? I'm trying a minimalist phase, and I need help with it!
I need a
93mm Blade and Awl knife
. That's it - one layer of simple goodness
Don't mind about colour depending on what's available, and would prefer no keyring bit, but that's not a deal breaker either way.
Pretty please
Got cash money or donor SAKs.

I just received a single layer 93 today myself. Blade and pruner blade
Surprised just how nice it feels actually.
Sorry for the sidetrack - point being ... you'll like it
... and it's MTo, so someone useful will be along in a minute

It can be done but there is one catch. If you start with a standard soldier/pioneer then if you notice the main blade actually extends into the liner section between the layers. So if you just take that layer out and re-assemble the knife will hit the scale. You could leave in the liner, but then I think that would bug me personally.
It should be possible with some gentle pressure and a vice to bend that blade a couple degrees though to make it all fit, but there isnt a ton of space between the awl and blade to start with.
I have a pile of solo blades though that have varying amounts of bend in them, one might just fit with the awl.
PM me or email sakmodder [at] gmail . com if you are looking for custom SAK work.

Ahhh .... didn't get that at first, but the blade is "set" differently to allow for the extra clearance needed for the awl. Luckily I had a Pruner and Rancher in front of me ... along with a camera
Well spotted mate - I'm glad you boffins are working on this for Nuph and not me

Great minds think alike.
I was thinking about the same mod for a while. That or the blade + nail file. But I'm not sure how the 85mm Wenger nail file would fit a 93mm frame.
I'll have to get a donor Pioneer and check.

I really like the nail file too - I guess the one on a Cadet wouldn't work in a 93mm either though?

Can't sleep either, ha?
I'm guessing it would sink too low into the frame, that's why I was thinking Wenger. I have a few of those nail files lying around.

Neither the 84 or the 85mm (wenger) will work. It does sit too low.
