Personally I won't have second thoughts in choosing a Farmer over a Huntsman (I have SAKs from both models), despite the lack of scissors and other minor implements on the Farmer, the lack of the inline awl on the Huntsman and the identical saw (even better packed folded in the Huntsman). By this logic a Midshipman is less valuable than a Farmer and a SwissChamp trumps them both :D  In my opinion the Huntsman is a nice 91mm SAK (although personally I prefer other models over it in 91mm size), albeit a bit too common one, but it does not really directly compare with the Farmer. Well, an alox Huntsman may have a better chance. The only Huntsman that I would  currently trade a Farmer for (several, actually ) would be this one (Martin, I hope you do not mind that I give this link from your gallery  :salute:):

Don't get jealous - get even - i.e. keep buying more SAKs  :pok:  :D

Has anyone ever got themselves into financial trouble over SAK buying on this site?

Just wondered............

In answer to this .... not yet ... thankfully  :P

Is this natural to always want another SAK no matter how many you have?

Completely normal for a member of this site.

The Farmer is worth having for the in line awl alone IMHO

What about making a trade for a farmer? I love the huntsman and the farmer. Both are nice saks. :tu:

I can have my cake AND eat it now because I HAVE A FARMER!!!!

Thanks to Tosh, I'm now the proud owner of an Alox Farmer which I have been EDC'ing for the last couple of days and giving my Huntsman a well earned rest.

I'm impressed with the large blade and can't believe it's even more substantial than the Alox Soldier.
And the best bit for me is the awl - excellent!

I think my SAK collection is now complete (unless I come across a CT41!)

Cheers Tosh!

Yeah well I made a mistake back in 2008 when I bought myself an Alox Soldier, and my wife a Farmer (she loves gardening). She wouldn't swap with me (grrrr) so it took 4 years and a trade with a Wenger Minigrip to put it right.

And relax.

There is no cure for SAK fever. I have a decent collection. But if I could just cherry-pick ICan FixThat's, and Jazzbass's, and Stressmaster's, and Jan's, and.... :D

Oh I'd like to go cherry picking on quite a few collections here myself.

I think Karl said his "brother" was going to end up with his SAK collection when he passes; now I didn't know I was related, but you can image how happy I am to find a lost brother with such a nice SAK collection.    :D

Now I think I'll go open up a an incredible shipment of SAKs, even if it doesn't contain any Farmers, because a few days ago I got the Farmer Fix with a Sunset Orange one which would combo really nice with the Sunset Orange Rambler.  Nothing better to do on a rainy day... house work can wait.
