I have to say I've never really gotten Olympic fever. Of course I'm not really a sports guy, so maybe that has a lot to do with it. I don't mind watching some of it here and there but for the most part it passes largely unnoticed for me.I imagine it'll have a bigger impact on the forum this year given the large number of UK members and the fact that it's happening in London.Def

Who else can't wait for this most eagerly awaited event of the year?
Quote from: sawman on July 12, 2012, 05:10:03 AMWho else can't wait for this most eagerly awaited event of the year? Me. I love the Olympics. I liked it even more when we had to wait 4 long years to see it - like God intended. But aside from basketball, which I think has been perverted with the usage of NBA players, I'll be watching as much as I can.
Well I think it's fair to say that other than picking up my own personal share of the £100,000,000,000+ bill as a UK taxpayer from direct costs and accumulated interest on the debt over the next few decades ... this little two week event will have pretty much no effect on my life, or anyone else I know. I was not one of the people celebrating when London was picked. My response was more like .... That said ... I do hope we put on a good show, that we do our nation proud in our responsibilities as hosts, and that the event brings enjoyment and benefit to less cynical people all around the globe

Better be a bleeding good show for all this aggro
Anyone else notice the "salute" when the German team walked in?
