Have things changed with attachments? They used to appear as a thumbnail at the bottom of a post, and one click would open up the full image in situ. Now I'm getting a hyperlink which tries to download the image for viewing, which is happening very slowly. Not sure if it's me or the forum.

Cheers

if you click the thumbnail rather than the link below it it works fine for me... just the text link below that forces me to open with a different program...

Hmmm ... the plot thickens ....

At first all I was getting was the text but no thumbnail, till you had a little poke around (or did you?). I noticed that parts of the site were running very slowly for me, and when an image did not appear it seemed to be as though that part of the page had timed out. There was no image BUT there was a tiny little hotspot about the size of a capital letter above the text where the cursor would change to the pointing finger. I clicked this and managed to get the top 1/8 or so of the image

At work, your image showed but opened VERY slowly and only partially, but another thread didn't. Then I had trouble replying to posts as whilst a thread opened up fine, clicking reply took so long I aborted and waited till I got home.

At home the images work slowly, threads open fine, but replying to posts is taking a while (but not as long as at work). Opening up attachment images is very slow and speed depends on the size of the image

That's two different PC's, different ISPs, different operating systems, different telecoms services, different browsers, similar results ... but I live near work so if no one else is having issues, could this be a regional "hub" of sorts that's getting congested?  Another confusing issue is that browsing other sites hasn't seemed to be as slow

I am officially baffled  :D

Finally got through a complete attachment maintenance process... there's a lot of files!

Dunno if it helps but at least there's a few errors corrected now.
