Hi All,
Just wanted to share my mod I completed today. As you can see I've taken the frame of a Gerber MP600 and replaced the main blade etc using components from a Gerber Diesel. Hence MP600D.
The reason I did this was I always use the MP600 to cut through wires at work on a regular basis. I like being able to just rotate or if need be change the cutters. And I like the philips screwdriver more compared to the philips on the Diesel. However I much prefer the blade on the Diesel, along with the saw and scissors.
So the two were merged together!
GERBER if your read this, please can you make a version of this but include the newly designed blade and philips from the MP600ST!

Nice one!
I like that idea. Basically it's just a Diesel with the replaceable cutters though, right? I think Gerber should put those on everything.

Great combination CJ, thanks for posting it.
Now what are you going to do with the leftover parts?

When I have done it I just used a pair of mole/vice grips. You will see that one side of the pivot is actually sunk slightly into the frame and is held in place. The other end will simply unscrew. If you are careful and don't slip you will be fine with the vice grips, however if you do slip you might cause some scratching.

...and if there are now some homeless diesel / MP 600 parts floating around, i might feel tempted to give them a Home..
I like to see Gerber Tools modified to the needs of it´s user/owner.

BTW I don't know how I didn't comment on it at the time but I love the tool selection in the PO. I might not have gone with the combo edge blade, but other than that it's excellent.

Another set of pliers.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?
