:hatsoff: Thank you, Sir! I very much enjoy them as tools and as works of manufacturing art that can be admired, handled and used!

Great SOGs you have there, Sven! :tu: One of these days I'm going to swap a plain edge blade and a V-cutter into my PowerLock.

Super cool PowerLocks Sven34, I am glad SOG took care of you with the warranty on your PowerLock. Your modded on looks great. Thanks for sharing.  :tu:

Thank you for the kind words! I like the plain-edge blades, and I like that these individual tools are still available ftom SOG!  I also liked the idea of the V-cutter, but in practice I found my V-cutter to be somewhat lacking in performance - it seems to bind-up rather than cut cleanly.  I may have a dud, or perhaps I need to sharpen it, or I may be using it not as designed, but overall, I have preferred SOG's scissors to their V-cutter.

This week I finally got around to finally fixing the file situation on my modded PowerLock. Around the time I did the plier jaw mod, I also added a modded file from a ST300. I never really liked how it turned out since the file would rock back and forth while using it. So, I remedied it by swapping in an older PowerLock file from a version 1 PowerLock.

So this should be the last PowerLock I pick up for at least a little while. We’ll see.

So I did a thing.

Well, I didn’t want it to have a slow death sitting in the clam pack. So it is now free of its tomb. Cleaned off almost 30 years of plastic off gassing from the PowerLock. It had a chalky film all over it. So, I cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol and then lubed the pivots and joints. Now it is ready for its new life of freedom from packaging.

Great find JonesE!

Thanks Barry. I got lucky and scored this for less than a new Stainless PowerLock on the big River site. The seller had two and I was only able to score one.

Good to see that PowerLock made an escape from its plastic prison! :salute: Even better, it has what's pretty close to my preferred loadout.

Wow! That looks exactly like the configuration of the first Powerlock I bought on clearance at Lowes 20-ish years ago, ecxept that I think mine must have had the next-generation pliers head, and I do not remember if the pliers head that I broke and got replaced had USA on them or not,  but the replacement pliers don't.

Anyway, just seeing the packaging set off all the memory bells. Thank you for sharing that!

Great score to pick up a classic, US-made version! Congratulations!

Thanks Farner and Sven, Thanks for the kind words. I am so looking forward to carry the new to me PowerLocks. Only 13 days left in the PST challenge. It has been fun seeing the differences between each of the different PowerLocks variants as well as the differences between the jaws. Makes you appreciate that they used CQI over the life of the tool.

Picked up a new to me PowerLock this week. This time I got a B69 version just like Barry’s up above. Mine has the SOG stamping four times around the pivot on the pliers jaw. Mine also lacks the NSN marking on the handles. Anyway, happy to have this unique example of the PowerLock.
