Some of you might remember this classic computer game, Jet Set Willy.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jet_Set_Willy

One of the enemies was a giant SAK, equiped with a blade, magnifying glass and corkscrew (I think, possibly an awl)

While getting these pics I ended up playing the game again for ages, although not for the long hours like I did back in the 80s. :D

Nice find! Am I right in thinking this was available for the Sinclair Spectrum? This and Manic MIner ate my free time up in the 80's.

I never played those ones... I was totally into Pitfall, Berserk and Joust around then.

Cool find though!

Anyone remember Jetpack, The Hobbit and Ant Attack for the Spectrum?

My daughter was showing me the graphics for Batman Arkham Asylum yesterday (her friend has it for the PC) and it's a million miles from Spectrum graphics! I don't think kids today would bother with our old games!

I remember drooling over the "new" 8 bit systems like the original Nintendo and the Sega.  Those were sooooo much better than my old 2600 because the people actually looked (sort of) like people!  It was awesome!

The screenshots are from the Amstrad CPC version although the game was on the Spectrum too.

Here's an interesting video that the BBC made for the Commodore 64's 30th birthday:
