Who has just a simple Vic Classic? Do you still use it?

Have you ever seen them without the key rings? I guess they came in small vinyl cases. I have one and found it sort of wierd. I would kind of like one with the key ring for my keychain.

IIRC the Classic without a keyring is called the Bijou..I have a few Classics, including an Alox model, and if I wasn't so happy with my Manager,I'd be carrying the Alox Classic.

I carry mine sometimes if I just want a small pair of scissors.  It's a handy little thing to have.  :)

I just ordered this white one from amazon.com.
I am nervous though about what I ordered. Does this particular model have the screwdriver on the nail file? I hope so. It says its just a classic.

Whats the difference between the classic and the classic SD?

Well, this one better too or I'm sending it back.

Although, you would think that special edition color and special edition items in general would have the better features.

That's not a special addition.  Classics come in virtually any color:

Shoot, I wish I'd seen this thread earlier, I would've sent you one of my extra used classics.  I've got a number of 'em swimming around.

To add my two cents on a few things:

1. Yes, the classic without the keyring is called the Bijou.
2. Yes, SD = ScrewDriver and it has a screwdriver tip on the top of the nail file.
3. If I had to make a guess, I would say that you will likely get an SD.  They are pretty much the default format that classics come in.  Even when not specifically listed as a Classic SD, the model quite often will be an SD.  I noticed a number of Amazon items that were listed as a 'Classic' but the picture shows a Classic SD.
4. Def is very right about classic's and colors.  Check out this page:

http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Color+Palette

Now, granted, not all of those are classics.  Many are Signatures (I and II), but classics are available in most of those colors.

I just don't just have a classic, but I do one (or a few) and use the one on my keychain regularly.

In theory, a Screwdriver tip on the file, as folks here have said.

I've got both kinds, and don't have any real preference, I suppose if I had to choose, I'd go with SD.

Hello mate, long time, no see :)
Yeah, for a while my job was keeping very really busy and I haven't had nearly as much time to check the forums.  I've been more active on Knifeforums lately but trying to find time to check in here semi-regularly too.

I would prefer the Rambler over the SD anyday! I bought my Fiance a pink Classic SD and she loves it!

Yeah, I just didnt want to spend the extra stinkin 9 dollars. You know, I have to conserve on a high school education and a part time job.

Trust me, I'm kickin myself in the butt for not spending only 10 bucks more. I'm gonna sell this one to an unsuspecting family member (my idiot brother) and buy the Rambler.

Don't forget Tim when buying SAK's.  He is probably the best SAK dealer there is and his prices are hard to beat.  ;)

I actually prefer the regular version over SD. It's nail file head is perfect for small philip screws. But when I sent in my old one for warrety they replaced it with a SD.  :sak:

I don't carry it anymore after I got a compact, gave it to my mom for her keychain.

I think we've all got at least one 58mm, there none too glamourous, but they do all those little mundane tasks uncomplainingly for years on end :)

Where would we be without them ???

I have been carrying a Classic on my key chain for as long as I can remember. It's so small it's almost unnoticeable, that little blade is great and I gotta have those scissors!

Long live the Classic! :salute:
