Need a pair of 91mm scales
on: August 14, 2012, 11:18:14 AM
I have a spartan that needs scales as the old ones have been removed so many times they are "loose" now. I am open to any color, but the stranger the better.  :D If you have a pair you are looking to get rid of please PM me with the specifics and a price. Thanks everyone.  :salute:

Hi

and sorry for high jacking this thread but I'm looking for
new Wenger EvoGrip scales. Did Rotokid also offer them?
Or is there another source?

Thanks and best regards.

Markus

I don't think Rotokid carries Wenger scales.

Thank you for the information. These Wenger scales are hard to find
I think I have to buy a good used Wenger to swap the scales. Did anyone
already remove / swap the new EvoWood scales?

Best regards.

Markus

Hi,

thanks. I know this shop and even bought there some Wenger
classic scales.
But there are only classic scales for sale. No Evo / EvoGrip.

As I looking for EvoGrip scales for my 65 mm PTC I still asked.
They (and any other seller I contacted) told me Evo scales
are not available as spare parts for customers.
If I had a damage or lost I have to send the knife for repair
to Wenger.

Why can I buy classic scales as spare but not the Evo / EvoGrips

Regards

Markus

Cap, I've got an extra pair if you want them; don't currently have a use/home for them.

As for the looseness issue, it's common with scales that have been repeatedly swapped.  A simple solution is to put a small drop of superglue in the divot for the rivet in the scale before you put them on.  If you don't use too much, they're still easy to remove, and it keeps them from wiggling around after you've pressed them into place.

Also, I use a small C-clamp to seat them because it lets me very precisely control the amount of pressure applied to get them to seat on the knife.
The first Noble Truth: life is suffering.  Only by accepting that fact can we transcend it.

Thank you for the offer, but I was given some replacement plus scales that I put on it.   :tu:
