Where did you bought the metal switch covers? I saw this mod on BLF, but the guy got it as a replacement if I remember correctly. Great looking lights BTW.

The Al and Cu Tools are great lights as they are but the metal switch cover makes it even better. Congrats for the great collection.

Welcome to :MTO: but it wouldn't be the best idea to link to merchandise in your first post without seeming like a spammer ;) :D

Short comparison between Nitecores MH27UV and SRT9.

Althogh the SRT9 looks much bigger, it has the same head diameter (40mm) and about the same length (close to 150mm). Only the battery compartment is wider in the SRT, because it houses 2 batteries. But it fits in my bag the same way the MH fits, since the pocket is wide and I just had dead space there. The SRT is a bit heavier because of the second battery. But I hold it better. The peculiar clips of the back act similarly to the tactical ring (so the cigar handling is in the menu) and make it tail stand better than the MH. They bith take the same 40mm filters which is nice (and saved me money, I only bought the neutral, because the default use is with that on for both).
The RGBUV LEDs are the same in luminance and function. The SRT has the Green which the MH hasn't (or the UV in the case of the regular MH27).
The SRT has about the double ewdurance for the same lumens count, which is good.
The main LED is twice stronger in the SRT (2150 lumens vs 1000). It has an Orange skin reflector, so it is a flooder (which I like, although I had to get a neutral density filter to make it perfect for night reading). It reaches 246 meters, vs a claimed 462, but the fact for me is that in close distances (where I need them most), the beam of the SRT is less concetrated and blinding.
MH has the USB charging (very useful to me, since I won't carry the charger when travelling), and some more modes, blue flash, red flash and SOS. I would only use the red flash rarely and I have it on the keyring light now (MecArmy SGN3), so no big deal.
The real big difference is the way you change modes. Although the double button of the MH is excelent, the smartring is the best thing I have ever tried. Fast, precise, simple and it gives you the opportunity to choose the exact amount of light you need, in place of the prefixed (or programmable) qvantums of light all other torches offer. Also, the SRT has a true "standby" mode, from wich you can rapidly go  to any mode you want. In both, signaling and momentary is done through the tail switch.
I thing that, in the future, all rounded LED lights should have a smartring.
The winner is the SRT for me (close margin). But I guess that combining the Smartring with the USB charging is very easy and somebody will do it eventually (Nitecore I guess, after we buy these two lines first and then they will try to convince us to "upgrade". The same old tricks). Also, they could make the status LED of the SRT to show the voltage, as is the case with the MH.
They are both big, although I found that the functionality of the MH made me EDC it without second thought. No other torches I know can do all that these lines (SRT and MH) can. I will certainly EDC the SRT from now on and I put the MH by my bedside, for night reading and all the other uses around the house.

Been messing about with one of my new mini mags and some plasti dip
To be honest it looks like I've not got a good bond between the dip and the maglight as I didn't sand the body of the torch first, I will give it a try and see what happens
I wanted to carry this at work and often end up holding it in my teeth, so...

After what seems like a long hiatus of not carrying any cool white lights, I've gone back to carrying at least one.  Today, it's these three lights.  The two Zebralights are a nice neutral white (around 4500K).

Left to Right: Armytek Dobermann XP-L (cool white), Zebralight SC600w Mk III, and SC600w Mk II L2

Ma & Pa gave me an iProtec 1400 zoomable LED flashlight for my birthday, and I used a remnant strand of gutted paracord to tie a Turk's head knot around the grip with a simple wrist loop lanyard to finish.  :)

If the plastic dip fails, which I hope it doesn’t, try rubber ranger bands...they’ll never fail you and are a pleasure to bite into :)
