Bright little sucker. The tint isn't as warm as my SC51w, but I like it. Can't wait for dark.
nice light Roc

I'm going to try get a sc52 this summer

Thanks JA. Thank you for the trade with the SC51w. Turned me on to Zebralight.
I have yet to buy a 14500 battery for it. I spent the rest of my allowance on a charger and eneloops.

:)

I traded you my sc51 with 100% intention on replacing it with a 52.

if I still had the 51 I don't think id get a 52 .

I'm going to try get a pair of 14500 and charger around the same time.

the 51 was close to perfect. It was a little dim. The 52 should be just right:)

I bought the 52w because I wanted something brighter than the 51w and believe me it is. I also wanted something that was close in brightness to my Olight s10. The 52w is not as bright, but the larger side button makes up for it. My one peav with the S10 was how small the button is on it. I was always turning it in my hand to find the button.

That's one thing that is really nice about the Zebralight, IMO.  Having the clip on the back side and the shape of the "head" makes the button really easy to find.

I feel the same. The button is very easy to locate.

As long as I have the Olight on lockout it never came on in my pocket. The trouble I have with it is I had to hold down the button for it to come on. It's just so much easier to turn the tail cap on the ZL.

I don't even turn the tail cap on the ZL, and it's only come on once, I think, and that was when I was fiddling with stuff in my pocket, so kinda my own fault :P

The Olight, on the other hand... With the lockout, it wasn't too bad, but I didn't like the trouble of going out of lockout when I only needed the light for a second.

I never lock out my SC52W, and it has never turned on inadvertently in my pocket.

I'm going to carry my Sc52w without locking it out and see what happens. My Sc51 came on in my pocket every time I didn't lock it out. The button is more recessed on the Sc52 though. If it doesn't come on it would be my perfect light.

I've been liking my Olight s10 because I can position the clip so the switch doesn't get bummed on

I tried that and the dang thing still turned on in my pocket. Still an awesome little light though. I use it to light up my backyard when my dog won't come in. There is no place to hide.  :)

I carried the SC52w all day without locking out the tailcap and it didn't turn on once. I have a winner. I wouldn't of stopped carrying it anyway.

Oh goodie. I didn't see this thread :)

I'm a hunter that does a lot of night time rabbit/possum shooting... so I have too many torches.

Alright so lets start of with my Solarforce torches:
  • Left: Solarforce M9 - 1020 lumen "thrower"... this thing is a beast. SF state a 500m beam, but to see clear detail on the ground I reckon 300m is realistic. Chews through batteries through.
  • Middle: Two Solarforce L2's - 980 Lumen general torches both with battery tube extenders for more capacity
  • Right: Solarforce T1 - This is my little EDC torch. 500 lumens, not much bigger than the 18650 battery it runs off. Nice orange peel reflector means a very nice light spread. Highly recommended for $25

Next up there's some repeats in here, but I used to be a LED Lenser guy (I still have them all... I just don't use them as I favor my rechargeable torches now... brighter and no battery waste, +/+).
  • Left: LED Lenser P17 - 220 lumens... not much, but it's very focused. So you'll light up the ground clearly 200m away no sweat. This was my main spotlight before the M9. It's indestructible.
  • LED Lenser P7 (200 lumen) & P7.2 (320 lumen) - I'll never get rid of my little P7. This thing is mounted to my scope on my suppressed 17HMR with a pressure switch. Excellent torch. The P7.2 however, was a huge let down. No increase in practical brightness, a severe battery life cut, and it felt like it was made to a lower standard than my others
  • Little LED Lenser K2L - Awesome little light but the batteries are $16 a pop for 4 of them... so I don't use it.
  • SF M9
  • Mini Maglite - This thing was a gift from my dad when I was a kid. It's beaten up and old, but I did a 140 lumen LED upgrade on it a while ago. It still gets used occasionally.
  • SF T1 (my EDC)
  • 2x Solarforce X3 - AAA 50 lumen keychain lights. I EDC one of these as well (the T1 rides in my backpack or pocket, but one of these is always on my keys). Mostly use AAA rechargeables for this.

And this final one gives you a bit of an idea how small the T1 is against a AAA battery.

I know it's a smurfty pic, but the little T1 does a great job of lighting things up in the middle of the night

Thanks :)

Yeah the M9 in particular is a very nicely built light. Better fit and finish than the L2s. Nice aluminium. Everything screws together nice and smoothly like it's buttered up. It's a nice touch that it comes with spare buttons and o rings etc.

It chomps through batteries on full 1020 lumen mode though.
