I really like the toothless clutched models in general and they seem pretty tough to me too!

This one is obviously really tiny but solid at the same time.

The 1/4" socket holder part slides through to the other side to switch direction and they come in a set with one like this and one with a socket for 1/4" bits.

I just got a flyer from Northern Tool here and the set will be on sale for $10 this Weekend,I highly recommend them for the price.

It's funny that this thread should come up right now- we may or may not be working with Chapman to distribute ratchets through The Multitool.org Store:D

You know, in case anyone is interested in that sort of thing....

Def

Where? I don't see them on there

i have yet to place an initial order with them, so I don't have any listed.

Def

Ah ok. They are bloody expensive on amazon over here, double the price of a Topeak at the mo  :o

That is exactly why they were looking for an international distributor.  We should be able to bring the pricing and shipping etc more into a reasonable level.  :D

Ahhh thank you Magentus!

Chapman - 20 teeth (18° arc) - 22.6 Nm
Victorinox - 36 teeth (10° arc) - 30 Nm
Topeak - 52 teeth (7° arc) - 30Nm

Seen like that, it's hard to hesitate (and here, the Topeak is also the cheapest ! 26 EUR shipped).

Topeak should work just fine in very tight places ! But wouldn't the teeth be tiny/fragile compared to Vic' or Chapman ?...
Where do these numbers come from? I’m interested to know.

They seem to say that a Topeak is stronger than a SAK bottle opener.

Here are the sources:

Chapman: official for teeth/torque
Victorinox: smiller43147 for the teeth, Amazon (and others) for the torque
Topeak: Magentus for the teeth, official PDF for the torque

This wasn't a Topeak one - it was someone trying to change a tyre. It was a 1/2" shafted socket bit, the shaft turned independently of the socket head. The ratchet was fine... the driver wasn't he was totally smurfed... How we laughed as we left him...

Edit: I drew a picture for you Pabs... I also got confused and spelt Pabs with an upside down reversed b for some reason... sorry...

Well, sort of... it was a shafted socket, as in the shaft is welded to the socket.
