Let us know how it goes with the OHT, LC  GIve us your initial impressions after you have used it at work and see if they have changed any from your first thoughts of it :tu:
Well 2 days at several different locations, performing routine and service maintenance.

I was surprised how similar the OHT tools are to my Diesel. Not having to deploy the pliers to access tools on the OHT does make life easier.

Only tool missing is the file. And of course the scissors, neither are an issue for me as I have access to other tools.

Presently, the OHT will take space in my tool grip and moved to pocket for trips away from the truck.

Also, the OHT can be sheath carried as it does fit my ST300 nylon sheath.

I took some comparison pictures of my group presently traveling with me this week before I begin cutting back this weekend.
Knife blades

Phillips
Small flat blade

Saw blade

A question for those who have pulled an OHT apart: which Leatherman multitools are the bigger tools (knife/saw/strapcutter) compatible with?

Just guessin here, probably just the Sidekick and Wingman?

I only realised today that I could flick the pliers open.
I always thought you had to push both the buttons in to slide the pilers.

Cool, you can now survive with this tool and 1 hand tied behind back.

Right or Left?

Had you ever handled a MP 600 or Mp 400?

Very similar, but may be better for many of us.

No, I'm yet to handle a Gerber. I may have seen one a couple of years ago but I can't remember...

What is worse is that I had seen video reviews where they flick them open before I bought mine.

@Spartan - nice picture, mine a BO as well, which I like better than the 2-tone.

I sprayed mine down with penetrating oil and then wiped down to clean Black oxide dust from the tools and handles.

What is the orange handle attached to in back ground?  Looks like a candidate to be shared my all things orange thread!

You will be good to go as a righty.
I did not know how Gerber pliers deployed till this summer. After I picked a Diesel for a reasonable price.

So good to learn something new.

Have you noticed another feature on your OHT? Hint handles

I have had a much harder time flicking my OHT vs my MP600  maybe need to oil it some more

The first OHT I got was so smooth, the pliers flew out like a hawk descending onto a none the wiser chipmunk.
The last one I got has to be flicked like throwing Thor's hammer onto the Earth. I am sure the ladder will eventually loosen up eventually. Maybe some quick-drying "new" 3 in 1  silicone lube would help. I used it on the Thor OHT and it helped a bit. :)

Thanks Loopcutter! The orange handle is none other than my Opinel NO. 12, and unseen in the Vic pouch, is my Hunter XT. If it's orange, I'm all over it!  :D

I have actually tried a couple different lubricants but I shall continue until it flicks better

Just sit and flick until it is smooth. Good way to keep busy when watching TV. Plus side, it aggregates other people into leaving the room, so you can change the channel to what you want.

I haven't a Gerber to compare with but it works best moving your arm from the elbow rather than the wrist (longer lever) and of course only gripping the sides.
Oh and ideally not facing a window.  :ahhh

I usually just hold in the buttons on the sides to deploy the pliers, unless I'm in a hurry. Usually you can get that to work with both Gerber and Leatherman mts.

On the OHT, do unlock the slider before trying to flick.
The Gerbers do not have slide lock do they? My Diesel does not.
