Year one as a MT collector.
on: November 21, 2012, 04:04:51 AM
Modest for 13 months I think. It all started with a ST300 last october. Thanks to the folks at the MTO to fuel the fire. The coming year could be full of swiss offerings. Black swisstools are sexy.

all are used and i a pretty good rotation.im not afraid to get down and dirty with them. God i even used the new in box pst at work the day after i got it.  The mini tool and squirt were gifted to the wife. The collection will be a little more diverse soon to make 50ft happy. Just a big fan of tools.

It seems I joined around the same time as you Bensasupertool.

Back then life was much simpler, the choice of three  MT's -
Spirit, Swisstool, Wave and a Vic' Explorer. more than enough.

But those long dark winter nights, nothing on TV, leads to all kinds of temptations. first it was astronomy, but a little too cold out there at night for me (I'm obviously a wuss) ......and then I discovered MT'o.
I was actually looking to see if Victorinox had introduced any new multitools after a friend who'd popped round commented just how "exquisite" they were "a work of art" was his expression - I stumbled upon MT'o quite by chance later that fateful evening . and the rest as they say is history.

Erm, I honestly dare not speak the truth as to how many I've aquired since then - jeez!! if my partner were ever to find out  :ahhh

You've have a great collection there bensasupertool and I really do like those radical pic's.  :tu:
I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.

The urge got worse in april when i joined the MT.o. A ST300 turned into a Skeletool then the zytel MT's came next in a short span of time. Then I knew I had been hooked. sazabi had some sweet deals too.

Some of the folks on here have stunning collections. Something to look up to I guess. I never knew there are so many people with a great passion for these tools. Im glad to have found this place by pure chance. The count is 19 Leathermans and 2 gerbers.20 LM's by saturday hopefully  :mail:

Ben I think Al (50ft-trad) is right you need some brand diversity.  I'm thinking a Road Tour Spirt would be just right for you.  Think of Black and Chrome what could be better on a multitool....but wait you could start down a Damascus road.

Thats ok. Poor management at Siena College allows for endless overtime, and kids who love to vandalize property. Thanks to Bruce i came close to buying that sweet road tour Vic he mentioned. 114 bucks on amazon.  then i came back down to earth and fooled around with the new flair. cheese spread and crackers have never been so much fun.

WOW ! That's a lot of MT's you have there my friend. Multitool.org corrupted me as well .

Since I've stumbled upon this website, I've invested a lot of money in MT's. Mostly Leartherman's and Victorinox/Wenger. Along with those MT's I've added a few SOG, Gerber and CRKT MT's.

Collecting MT's is a very enjoyable (and expensive) hobby, but I think of it as an investment. Thanks for sharing your collection .
