Mine is just my initials combined with the fact that I reside in Arizona.
So JC in AZ.

My name come from my dark sense of humor and where I'd like to see our serious criminal offenders go.

Though it may not seem it, mine is original. I had not seen the smiley or the Swiss Army Knights link up top or on the side, shows how much attention i pay to extraneous information... anyway, hard to prove, and on a subconscious level perhaps i had read them, but honestly it just popped into my mind one day, while thinking about SOSAK for inspiration.

Algernon - from an old encyclopedia brown story, not from "flowers for algernon"

Ramone - from the Ramones, of course. Who wouldn't want to be in the Ramones?

Mine started with PTR33 when I was on the (Nissan) Skyline forum "Skylines Australia". PT is my initials and R33 was the model series of my Skyline. I also had it as the number-plate on the car. (Car is long since sold, but still have the plates on current vehicle.)

Looking at it with my nerd hat on,  PTR33 is a l33t-speak anagram of PETER, my name.

For some reason I have made a habit of taking different names on all forums, based on variations of the rule...

PTR + forum relevant TLA (three letter acronym) = username.

I have also been

PTRDUC Ducati forum
PTRXR6t  Falcon XR6 Turbo forum
PTRJZX  Toyota Chaser Tourer V forum
PTRVR4  Mitsubishi Evo forum
PTRS13  Nissan Sylvia forum   (yes, I liked my turbocharged cars...)
PTREX  R/C Helicopters
PTRKTM  Dirtbike riders forum.
and several I have forgotten about.

Mine comes from my work job title. Contractors working on my station just call me "super" (as in super-visor) not as in "your super/fantastic/marvellous !!!! :D
It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Ask my parents :)

I'm in that boat as well, although you'd have to go a bit back... It is customary in my neck of the woods to name the first son after the grandpa from the father's side, so I have the name of my grandpa, who has the name of his grandpa, and so on...

I suppose you have to hope your Grandfather hasn't got cross-dressing tendencies though. I pity the Grandson trying to comprehend why his name is Dave, but still has to go by the name of Clarissa at weekends  :D

My username was sheer randomness.

My avatar and signature were a result of me getting my nerd on.  I figured I'd use a Star Trek reference and took a picture of a Leatherman Wave in my hand in the style of the classic Vulcan hand greeting.  Coupled with my "Live long... and useful" signature I thought someone would think it was clever.

Not one person made a comment about, ever.  Not one, know your crowd I guess :)

Oh, I've noticed. :D Many times. :D Made me smile but we didn't have a Star Trek thread here in some time now and it simply never came up.

Mine was a derivative from Earth and Beyond; one dreaded enemy was known as the V'rix Helkos. Replaced the H with an X and Xelkos was borne.

Mine goes back from back in my early university days.

I got accused for being metrosexual just because I actually put moisturizer on, wore clean and curated clothing, and knew quite a bit about women's clothing (general interest, like pattern making)

In my youth I read Catcher in the Rye, the ever popular hipster book about being misunderstood, and the character Holden described the term and lifestyle of Polymath (one how knows everything). I liked that a lot and to this day, still take every chance to learn, striving to be a polymath.

Again, in my youth I wanted to be a few things when I grew up (still haven't grown up yet), one career was an architect. Effecting the city, creating space, destroying paradigms (ok so maybe not that).

So that's where is came from.

Mine comes from the simple fact that I find wonder and excitement in just about anything and everything...people, places, things, ideas, knowledge, strange and unusual facts you get the idea.

I decided to remove the vowels based on two reasons. The first which is way cool, is based on the fact that even when a word is misspelled people will still be able to recognize the word, this can be done wiht n ntire parigraf nd ou wll stil b abl to reed it.

The other was simple to shorten it  :D

awestruck = wstrck, no good
dumbstruck = let's not even go there

wndrstrck it is  ;)
