One of my enduring hobbies is homebrewing.  When trying to create user names in forums I found that any name with beer, brew or brewer seemed to be taken, so I concentrated on my second favorite brew, mead.

For those that are unfamiliar with mead, it is an alcoholic drink based on fermented honey.  It can be flavored in many ways, but at its heart it will always be made form honey.

Red Dwarf character Dave Lister.

You get a big LIKE from me on that one. :2tu: It was the first thing I thought of when I saw it. :D

Mine is a shortened from Enkidu and the town I was born in. Enkidu was already taken on most forums. I got nicknamed Enkidu in highschool when I came to class one Saturday morning after partying all night before, unshaven, with baggy eyes, hair in a mess... on the day we were learning the Epic of Gilgamesh. :ahhh

+1

I think that entire first album is a classic - They've had a great almost unknown career, but they totally influenced 'Kyuss'  and 'QOTSA'

Love the mead!¡! We have Walkers Honey Farm in a town near where I live. A great portion of my income goes to them monthly. Maybe I should make a bank draft to them

Zombie Killer is my current favorite commercial mead.  It is flavored with cherries and apples and is made here in Michigan by B. Nektar Meadery.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Well my user name came fairly easy. My name is Steven, and yes I have lots of tattoos. The 99 part came when I got my first email address. 1-98 was taken so 99 it was. Been that ever since ;)
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

Have you read any of Joseph Heywood's books?  Fly fishing is an obsession for more than one of his characters especially in the Wood Cop series of books.

Ravens in myth are messengers, watchers, scouts and tricksters. We have been hero and villain, the fool and the old man, the harbinger of death and the protector of empire. We go into desert heat and the coldest of winters, and dance on the wind of a coming storm.  All of these are things I have been accused of by friends and enemies both.

I call myself Kitbeard because I was getting desperate for a user name and it sort of just jumped to mind.

I am and have been into different types of kit, anything from SAKs through to OPTMs via traditional slipjoints for about fourty years now but only stopped lying to myself about being a collector about five years ago.

The beard comes from the fact that I've had a beard since 1980 and because it led to me thinking of a pirate speSmurfpillsing in multools, which I liked as an idea.  "What d'ya mean, 'pieces of eight', I want a modded alox SAK or else."

Well mine came from my other hobby of scouting as I got the name Chil while being a parent helper on a Cub camp way back in the 90s when my son was first in cub scouts, Chil is the name of the Red Kite in the original Jungle book story who helps Baloo and Bagheera find Mowgli after the Banderlog ( tribe of monkeys with king Louis kidnap him ) so it sort of stuck so it gets used a lot for alsorts of stuff and I do like it, folks do try to tell me I spell it wrong or think it is Chill but Chil is correct although in some countries he is called Rann I believe this is the name given in the US for him and is also quite cool as well, but the Brits would not get it.

Loving this question/topic
