there's too many pages to look through in this thread, has this been explained?:

Fuzzbucket is a 1986 television film written and directed by Mick Garris starring Chris Hebert as a young Michael Gerber and Phil Fondacaro as his invisible friend, Fuzzbucket.

Mine is stupid and I should change it. I'm a PA and use the last name for a lot of 3rd party sites or email.

mine is my initials and I was in the USMC.

Honestly I wish that I had chosen a more creative username but I needed to create one on the spot many years ago and that's what I picked. Now that I've spent a lot of time in various forums, I needed my online name to be consistent across the board, so I'm stuck with it.

There are worse things, I suppose! HAHA

Old nickname. I'm getting a little tired of it though.

My then-girlfriend (now wife) came up with the name Hambango for my character in a fantasy tabletop game to which both of us were invited during our student times almost 20 years ago.
She insisted that I had to play a halfling thief, which she thought was hilarious seeing as I'm 1,96m tall and gifted with all the natural grace and stealthiness of a hungover grizzly bear.

His full name was Hambango Nasenbart. "Nasenbart" isn't really a word that's used in the German language, but its literal translation would be "nose beard". I'm still not entirely sure whether the little bugger just had an ordinary mustache or if he had a beard consisting of his nose hairs... :-\
Yeah, my wife can be a little wacky from time to time...

We only participated in a few sessions and afterwards never played the game again, but I've been using the nickname for most of my internet activities ever since.
I ditched the nose beard part though.  :D

Yep, I would have used this one if I hadn't let google sign me up. Thought it was time to switch to what I would have used.

Ha! funny I should notice this thread today when I was just thinking about my username.
I registered here back when I was shopping for a new MT and wandered in here and lurked for a bit and when I wanted to make a post I signed up through facebook and it just took my name from there. I never thought about it until I started being a bit more active. now I feel out of place lol
funny thing is that I do have an online nic that ive used since 2001 and this is the only website or forum where I am not known as Walley
I wonder if I can get an admin to change it for me?
if I can get it changed then I can tell the longer story of where the name Walley came from lol.

Thanks to SteveC for helping me to correct my username.

now here's my long tale. no guarantees that it's interesting so read on at you're own risk.

I started using the nic Walley not long after I first got online in and around the start of 2001. my kids were young and my wife was in a period of working long hours and I started tinkering with computers. someone gave me some CD's with various games that had online multiplayer component and I started slowly getting into it in my spare time.
one day I found myself stuck in a game, couldn't figure how to get out of an area I was lost in, so I joined the chat channels that were apart of it to ask for help.
my nic at the time was Hank, and the moment I asked my question I was kicked from the channel!
this being my first online experience with people, I felt shocked. like a slap in the face. so I went straight back in and asked why? and of course I was kicked out again instantly. this repeated a couple of times until I logged out and swore then walked away from my computer.
I got about 3 steps and stopped and thought **** (insert random nasty words here) and I sat myself back down.
as I restarted the game I thought I better pick a new name or he will just boot the moment he sees me, so I quickly created a new character. I didn't think too much, I just recall thinking about another friend of mine that used the nic Walleye and I tried to make that name but it was taken. so I dropped the last E and Walley was born. I thought it was just going to be temporary.
I went back to the channel and sat quietly and observed for a while, then wrote a big rant that I thought put him in his place well and then left the channel the moment after I hit send.
I sat for a moment feeling satisfied with myself and was just about to log out and move onto to something else, when I got a private message from someone that I guess was watching this all go down in the channel.
she invited me into a private chat room and praised me for what I said and asked me to join a guild. turns out she was leader of a 300 member guild and in a short time I became No.2
this adventure lead into many months of games, political intrigue, chat room wars, web site development etc and I made a lot of friends.
so pretty much from the moment I left that chat room I was stuck with the name Walley and I have used it in every game, website and forum online that I register at ever since.
