[CLOSED] 50ft-trad's "For Sale" Thread - Pic Heavy
on: October 21, 2012, 12:29:24 PM
Finally got round to starting this thread

The items I'm listing here are all available for sale. I'm in no real hurry to shift these at the moment, so if they don't do straight away, they'll sit there till someone else nabs them or they get withdrawn  :D

Over 18's Only
All prices are in GBP (Pounds Stirling)
Payment via Paypal
Postage will be "uninsured" unless insurance is requested by the buyer
Buyers responsibility to ensure items are legal in your area - no comebacks if Customs intercepts and confiscates them etc.

NOTE: I will aim to despatch all items within 1 week of purchase. I would like to say within a couple of days, but I can struggle to get to the PO at times.

I'll list items as I go along. Feel free to shout up or PM me if you want more info/pics

First up, a Camo Bucktool with sheath. This has had light use, and there are a couple of areas where the camo print has scratched of chipped and there’s a glint of stainless coming through from below. Most of this appears to be from the press stud inside the sheath. All tools are in good order

Leatherman KF4 with sheath and box - no papers

Never used or carried, just opened - looked at - and put away again. This is an older tool with the original nylon padded pouch, and stamped USA on the pliers. Date codes in the handles are 0501/0601. You can see from the box what the UK retail price was, and I'd like to get back as much of this as possible

George Wostenholm IXL traditional slipjoint knife

Buffalo scales, nickel silver bolsters, brass liners. This has been used and carried, but used respectfully. It was my favourite carry for a while, but my tastes have changed somewhat. The backspring is rather soft and doesn't snap open like a Victorinox, so if you're not comfortably with slippy folders I'd give this a miss, unless it's role is to sit there looking pretty  :D I hand picked this one from the shop as the buffalo scales are lovely and not just the usual black shiny stuff you often see.

I'm throuwing a sheath in with this one which also comes with a Sheffield made (Eggington Group) pocket steel for keeping the edge in top fettle. Neither the sheath nor steel have been used

Another Bucktool - never used never carried. This one has a blemish on the outside on one handle (can be seen in first pic) again caused by the press stud, and the previous owner has glued a piece of leather over the inside of the fastener to prevent further damage. There are a few marks on the top of the sheath too. Otherwise, all is in top form.

Next up, my second ever SAK - a Deluxe Tinker. I did carry this quite a lot, and it's on it's second set of scales, but as I've played with tools more I've found I need a corkscrew more than a backspring philips - and this poor feller never gets any fresh air anymore  :-[

For sale as a user, currently sporting some browny-onyx translucent scales. All tools in good order. I'm hoping this goes to a good home and gets used and carried rather than broken for parts - but I'm not that sentimental about it really  :D

Another SAK that's getting claustrophobic ... a Metal 50. This is essentially a Wenger Traveller (same toolset as an EVO 14) but with aluminium scales. No T&T or keyring on this item. There are light marks and scratches etc on the scales consistent with pocket carry, and the blade could do with a touch up (which I'm happy to do if you would prefer).

A few SAKalikes up for grabs next. They're all from Solingen Germany, so they're all of decent ingredients and build quality. The first two are shown below.

One of them (the white one) is Startan-esque, but with no small blade (or anything else for that matter) opposite the main blade. No keyring or scale tools, but great walk and talk  :D

The black one has a clip blade opposing the main, and a pair of scissors too. Good walk and talk again, but could maybe do with a drop of oil which I'll do before it leaves. A little bit of tarnishing on this one as it stands. I could have given it a polish and pretend it's better than it was, but that's naughty  >:D I'll givi it a little polish and a drop of oil before it goes  :tu:

The third one is a little different in that the tools are BO. There is some wear on the BO, particularly on the can opener. The scales have got a kind of bark effect which does give a little extra grip, and again good walk and talk on all tools. I'll leave the lanyard on this too  :tu:

For the sake of clarity on the updates I'll refer to these as the Solingen "Spartan-ish", "Climber-ish" and "BO Tinkerish"

Prices:
Spartan-ish - £6 + P&P
Climber-ish - £7 + P&P
BO Tinker-ish - £8 +P&P
P&P £3 UK and £7 worldwide

I've listed the P&P separate in case anyone is tempted for more than one ... in fact if that's the case I'd prob knock a few quid off anyway

Old Ribbed Alox Cadet.

This has been carried, but by the previous owner not by me  :) The soft alox scales have got little dings conducive to pocket carry, but the tools are in decent nick. Good walk and talk on all blades, main blades is a little scratched from use and the edge could use a little touch up - again I'm happy to do this for you, or leave it to you - just let me know  :tu:

Next up - Gerber MPT. I don't think this has seen a day's work in it's life. This is the tool that Gerber put out to nab the military contracts that LM were getting  >:D Think PST but bigger and with rolled edges. Non-locking tools, and that awesome early Gerber awl that appeared on the Mr Pinchy's too. No pinching with thins one though, if anything it's a little "legs akimbo" in comparison with other tools. The sheath has a basketweave effect print on

Bicentennial Rosewood IXL:

This was sold to me as a Bicentennial edition knife, but no special markings or paperwork. Very similar to the buffalo version listed previously, but with rosewood scales. Same brass pins and liners and nickel silver bolsters. Soft backspring again (typical of this pattern - though working some oil in to lube and clear out any factory remnants might improve it), and the sharpening steel has a brass handle this time. Never used or carried - in presentation box as shown - no sheath

This cost me £56, I'll let it go for £45 shipped UK / £50 shipped worldwide

Assorted Whittling/Carving Tools:

Basis of this kit is a Flexcut SK106 palm tool and 4 blades (in a tool roll). Also included is a lovely Boker Tree Brand wood scaled 4 blade congress knive, and a couple of leather thumb protectors. These items haven't done a thing since I got them. Selling for way less than they cost me

I'll be listing more items when I have chance to take decent photos and get them up. Some of the items will be being listed because I do actually want rid of as they just don't suit my needs. There are others which I'm undecided about - I don't need to sell them to be honest, but they're not getting used much. I've had a fair bit of new stuff in lately and some of my existing stuff is now surplus to requirements. I figured I'll list them at the price that I would be prepared to let them go for in case somone does want them more than me, and if they don't sell it's no hardship - they'll just sit in a box unless I decide to use them "for old times sake" :)

Items I'm currently planning to list (just as a teaser) include:

Victorinox Pathfinder,
Powerlock Chassis (chassis only - empty handles - build your own toolset),
Victorinox Voyager Lite,
Rebar (I was going to mod it to knifeless, but it's too much hassle and I've got plenty of other options now)
Puukko/Leuku combo set in piggyback sheath,
PST II,
Leatherman Tool Adapter,
My "Roundhouse" (knifeless) Kick Mod,
Long Nail File Climber (NIB),
Victorinox Skipper (lock disabled),
Swissgrip,
Crusader cookset complete with microbe filtration water bottle (safe to drink acquired water from bottle without chemical processing),
Old Victorinox 84mm Tinker with squared can key philips and old style awl

Thank you, Sir  :salute:

Some of the bigger sale threads can get a bit messy I've found, and it can be tricky to keep track of what each item was and what's still available. I figured this might help keep the thread understandable once more stuff gets listed  :)

Helps me keep a track too  :D
