I've seen these on-line before but have never had a chance to play with one myself.  I'll be interested to hear anyone's feedback on them as well. :)

I've got one that live in my edc altoids kit. It's good, throws a nice big spark. My only pet peeve is the lid on top doesn't close completely due to the o ring. Not a big deal. The bottom feels solid but the top is a little thin and the inside of the lid isn't painted completely. Again not a big deal but would it really cost that much more to paint the entire inside? I got mine at cabelas for $9.00 (£5,60 ish ) hope this helps :)

Saw one in the store. Seemed like an ok but not special knock off of the Sparklite, with an inferior tinder (they didn't seem like they'd be as water resistant) and a carrier that is trying too hard to follow a form decided on by sentiment/marketting rather than compactness or function- the o-ring kept it from closing.

I like Zippo lighters. But not their not-a-Sparklite. From the quick examination I was able to give it, I'd say it would work better than the Ranger Rick knock off of the Sparklite, and very much on level with AMK's sparker. But I can't get over the case and tinder

I would get it just based on my satisfaction with the Zippo product.

I've seen them around, but never handled one myself, outside of the packaging anyway...

It seems like a neat little device, but for myself, I don't see the need.  I've got enough experience with backcountry fire-making that it's unnecessary for me.

It might be nice to have to keep in the glove box of a car, or the like, in case of emergencies when you don't have any other outdoor gear on hand.

I was at REI yesterday and saw a cheapened version of it - Zippo

The hinge looked sort of flimsy and there wasn't any sort of seal.
