Many of mine came from collectors too - that's why so many are in such good condition.
They nearly all got devalued very quickly due to me using the though  :D

Most of what I have was bought used but near mint.

The only SAKs I use regularly are my keychain Manager and sometimes my Huntsman...

I started as a User, but Ebay and TSA have enabled me as an Accumulator.

I've dabbled with modding and have the parts for a couple mods if my work will ever give me a break.

I'd like to be a collector but my limited supply of spare cash won't allow it.

Out of the box SAK's satisfy me , so as a result mods don't tempt me too much . ( at least since Shibeer stopped doing the HAIII Farmers with the scissors ) . I view SAK's as expendable ordinance , I frequently gift or trade them , but I'm never without one .

I used to prefer the Huntsman and Ranger , but now I'm in a " go big or go home " stage , and sport a handyman . I'm eyeing the Cybertool 41 , or the old standby , the Swisschamp .

I think all three. Started as a user, but eventually the rest came. :)
Small collection of SAK's, (but growing rapidly. :D) not so fast at this time. :( And the most important of all: Ze Zuper Zoldier by Steve!  :ahhh

I would like to be a modder but at this stage i dont have the time to really do it myself as i have a lot of other hobbies that use up $ :(

I am a user but not as heavier user as i like or would want to be. Main tools i find i really use are knife and scissors.

I am a collector too but i am quite specific at what i collect. I do collect a bit of alox but i am not as serious about it as a lot of other people here who have every colour of certain models for example. I would love to have every alox soldier from 62 but in reality its never gonna happen but i have been just trying to collect as many different versions as i can. If i see some alox at a good price then i will buy it, eg i got a red cadet the otherday which was not at a crazy price. I can not afford to get one of every special edition colour alox from swiss bianco.

Others i collect are the GAK's and the other 108mm knives. I have been trying pretty hard with those but just have not bought any lately and probably shouldnt till i sort through the shoes boxes full of gaks i have ::) I have multiples of some SAK's but thats mainly either for back ups for EDC/general use or to use as parts to make certain custom SAK's that i want.

Hadn't even considered the number of them hanging around here.

At a guess, 10 in regular use, 10 or so unused and boxed (Alox mostly), and maybe 50 in various used conditions which sometimes get given away, traded or modded.

2 and 3 only, but very little time for modding. This latest mod is going to FelineVet over the next few weeks. I'm trying to finish some Stayglow Plus scales for it as time permits.
These full size mods are not popular on this forum, but the local farmers and DIY types love them, I can't keep up.

Very nice! I craved for a Cyber Swisschamp for years, this comes close and it is more user friendly than an XLT.

There is the rumor of a revised SwissChamp. Gareth's  totally cosmic mod tutorial is all that is needed for instruction, and moral and technical support is here as well. Make exactly what you want, then use it like you stole it  :D

The question is straightforward: How many of you are
1) SAK Collectors
2) SAK Modificators or
3) Just Users and enthusiasts, owners of under, say, 10 samples, most of them used more or less?

I am No3, but I might go to No1 or, preferably, No2 when I grow up!  :climber:
Well i am No1 but i am also a user. ;)

Right now, number 3, though most of my knives are fairly new (as of now, I have 3 SAKs).

I plan to graduate to full-fledged collector, number 1, in the near future... :D
