Anybody experiencing any delays in loading that index page? It works fine for me, but I worry about load time for folks with slower internet service. :-\

It does take a few seconds to begin loading, and it takes a while to get all the pics. Are the thumbnail pics on the index page seperate small versions of the big pics or just the big pics "squashed" into the a small area?

They are big pics that have been squashed. I'm not sure if the Wiki software shrinks down the file size along with the picture or how that works.  ???

No it doesn't look like it does, the pics are the same file which means you have to load all the big pics even though you are only looking at the small pics :( Solution? Resize all the Ad's to thumbnail size and change the img links on the index page to the thumbnail sized ones :D Fun!!

You read my mind. That would be a bunch of work. I wasn't going to bother because I never thought there would be that many pictures on the page. But now..... :-\

Oops, okay, I already started. The three Buck ads at the top now use small photos for their icons. I'll hold up and wait before doing more.

No problem, there is a thumbnail code you can put on the end of a pics link, but it reduces the quality a bit too much :(
Eg:

https://wiki.multitool.org/show_image.php?id=836
https://wiki.multitool.org/show_image.php?id=836&thumb=1

You can change the size of the thumbnail in the wiki code, but it looks crap as it doesn't change the resolution.

I've uploaded a few more of the 150px wide images, not changed the references in the index page yet though :)

Why thank you sir!  :)

I've changed the references on the index page for all the ones you've added. Everything from the top down through Leatherman (plus Victorinox) has been done.

Uh....is there a noticable difference in how quickly the page loads? :-\

Good work! Just tried it on one of my computers that hadn't visited it before and it loaded the ones that had been changed very quickly and just the ones that hadn't took a while to load :)

I don't always agree with the quality of their tools, but the Gerber advertisements are certainly top notch. :)

I like the one with the soldier on it, it makes a great deal of sense :tu:

They really do have the best ads.  I was never really that impressed with LM's talking tool ads and the less said about Bionic Lobster the better!  :P

I really like that Juice ad  :tu:

Perhaps Tom at Blendtec should try that :D

As far as printed ads go Gerber definitely win this one hands down  :tu:  What is with the lengthy Leatherman 'stories'??  ::)
