Tool kit adaptor for diesel, etc

I Recently ordered the toolkit for my diesel multi plier. (The one that fits the flat philips driver on the tool) Anyway, the adaptor doesn't seem to stay on the tool. I also have the 400/600 etc adaptor for those series tools, and that adaptor has a fairly strong magnet that sticks to the philips driver of those tools.

This one has a magnet inside also, but it doesn't seem like the driver end goes into the adaptor enough for it to bottom out and stick to the magnet. The adaptor holds bits nicely so I know it isn't a flawed magnet. I am just wondering if I got a bad one or are they all like this?
