Yep. Gone are the days of $8 Executives from felinevet.

I just made a series of offers for this nice blue one on the big auction site and paid 19 bucks for it.

Great find pipedreams! :like: :tu: :tu:

I received this one a short while ago and I don’t know if it was something from their gift shop or a memento for staying there.

Thanks everyone, it is a very nice knife.  Probably my imagination but it seems to be more highly polished than most.  Maybe some day I'll end up at the Dolder Grand Hotel and show it to them.  Not holding my breath though.

I got my first Executive a couple days ago. It's pretty nice. Not sure yet if i'll keep it, but I like it.

For me the Executive is an acquired taste. It took me quite a while to appreciate it fully.

I wish Vic had done more with the 74's. I like the size, and the 4-corner configuration.

@JtB carry it see how you get along with it then put it away.  After a while carry it again.  I did that with the Executive I had and realized it was a great SAK but my PTC was more to my liking.

Just a thought.   ;)

Here's my Executive. I've taken to carrying it when I'm in a clean-clothes situation. IE, church, business, etc. And funerals. A lot of that going around lately--had one today for my friend's father. He was a great man of God and taught at the Bible college nearby. Left 11 children behind, the youngest is 7, the oldest is 30. The family is in great spirits, all things considered. All 11 children sang a hymn together for the assembly.

Anyway, the Executive....a really awesome knife when it comes right down to it....

My first Executive arrived today. Saw this a few days ago and, on yet another another SAK impulse buy, snapped it up.

Customised solid copper scales on a new SAK with brass pins.
Should hopefully develop a decent unique patina over time.
This one is definitely going to be one of my watch pocket EDC's (watch out MiniChamp!).

(This Brit now has an excuse to hunt down and watch an episode of MacGyver  :D)

Mine has been an almost constant companion for the last two months.  It rides on my keychain, waiting for the chance to spring into action again.  I've really fallen for the charm of this knife!  I carried a Classic on my keychain for years, but I really love the feel of the Exec.

The Classic or Rambler feels like at least you have something to cut with, but the Executive feels like you are actually carrying a KNIFE.

Yeah.  The longer body has as much to do with this as the blade IMO.  :)

I don't know if it's just because mine is older, but the Exec feels SOLID to me.  It feels like it's cut from a different mold than other SAKs.

...the Exec feels SOLID to me...

I was thinking that last night. The copper scales on my new Executive make this feel a really solid knife. It is small but...substantial (a little more so than the Cadets I own)

Customised solid copper scales

If anyone is interested I just received an 84mm Excelsior today with similar design and construction in copper.

I've carried my used Executive, as well as an OHGAK for the bigger jobs, and I'm pleasantly surprised that the Exec is so handy, between the scissors, real nail file (which the tip works good on Phillips), and orange peeler (for the small SD, tho I did peel some oranges once). I've paired it with my Fisher Astronaut "Shuttle Program Commemorative" Space Pen for my own shirt pocket CY challenge, even if the official CY  challenge isn't until much later.

The Executive packs a punch way bigger than its size.  It's been on my keychain for months, although not used during the month of January due to the 111mm Challenge.

Here's a 74mm SAK that looks suspiciously like a 58mm
