Attempt at teethpick challenge
on: April 30, 2024, 07:26:33 PM
Here's my attempt at the teethpick badge. The following are some novel (in my opinion) uses of the teethpick that I think should work for the challenge...
1. Using it as an emergency bookmark
2. Sometimes I get pocket lint in my pen that I fish out with the teethpick
3. Impromptu ruler for underlining smaller areas of text (generally I'm holding it with my other hand but I needed a hand with which to hold the camera...)
4. Fixing the wick on the Zippo insert (i.e., moving it further away from the flint wheel). Alternatively, in a pinch, it can also be used to unscrew the little capsule where the flint piece goes.

Hopefully, between all of these at least one will be seen as an innovative use!

The toothpick can be a great light scraper, poker, and prodder. Cool uses, and congratulations on the badge!

The toothpick is one of my most used tools. I normally use it as a poking & cleaning tool. It gets lint out of my phones charging port. It's great for teasing apart & separating small objects. I love your uses for it. :tu:

Learning Hittite - wow! I've only known one other person to do this. He can even read some cuneiform.

About the only thing I use it for is to remove lint from the exterior ends of a SAK - which is quite satisfying.  As between being satisfied and not being satisfied, I prefer being satisfied.

I wish haha but I do historical linguistics -- we don't have much use for reading the cuneiform; mainly we leave that for the area speSmurfpillsts. We're more concerned with the grammar of the language so for the most part we just use transliterations... It's easier than having to learn cuneiform, fortunately.

speSmurfpillsts.

I love how the correct spelling of that word sets off the spam detector.   :ahhh
