What is that bit extension you are using with the Huntsman?
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

It's the Leatherman bit adapter. Just a small amount of filing and it locks to the flathead. Several years ago I did this mod to a Spartan and I grew quite fond of it so I did it also eventually to this Huntsman

Changed new batteries to several baby gear and inspected a walkie talkie charger that made a rattling sound. Luckily there was no loose electronics inside but a big drop of hot glue that was bouncing around the housing. The small philips bit was needed to get those extra small screws out

I find it fascinating that shortly after  I say a certain tool on a sak or a leatherman is useless to me, I find something that can be done with that tool only. Just a week or two ago I was talking with a friend about the "perfect" sak for my daily needs. I've been carrying the Spartan and said that I'd probably get the small tinker - because an 84 mm with the screwdriver rather than the corkscrew would be much smaller in pocket and that I have no need for a corkscrew in my life . Today I needed to use that outlet, but it had the child proof cap in it. I could not find the tin key that comes with those caps so I had to improvise. First I tried to pry it out with the can opener, but that did not work out. Then I had an idea ...

I'm so proud of myself  :D Wasn't there a corkscrew use badge  :climber: ?

Good to know I'm not the only one  :) Always feels a bit more satisfying to do it all with the tool you already had on board  :tu:

My trusty veteran Lenovo IdeaPad battery basically died...it was going from full charge to zero in about 20 min. Time will tell if this Ebay replacement works out, but I hope so. My also trusty CyberTool 34 made quick work of the full replacement. This has been a great computer. Despite just 2GB of RAM it runs so fast on the net and playing retrobox games running Debian Linux XFCE.

I ditnt used the whole potential on my Swisschamp since I got it a few weeks ago, but:
I did cut some buns ,
Used the small blade to opened some packages,
Used the tweezers to pull something..
and the scissors to cut some candle rope..
as well as the magnifier to show a customer how to tell the right direction of the candle rope (where the v is open, it’s up on the candle)

I have to say, how easy the scissors are accessible it’s awesome, on the Delemont Collection it was much more difficult to get them out whit short finger nails..
Your SAK is only fully yours, when it bites you, or you opend a Trink of your joice whit it
SAKs i have: Huntsman Light (Red Transparent), Workchamp (Black), Wenger EvoGrip S557 (Red), Swisschamp XLT (Red Transparent).. Swisschamp (Blue Transparent) Cybertool L (Blue Celidor (custom scales) , Huntsman (Black Celidor) , Victorinox EvoGrip S557 (Red, but sadly lost in my house somewhere) Victorinox Delemont S17 and S57 ..  , waiting for: Swiza D09 Blue

Used my Swiss Champ ti drop it accidentally and now it needs proper treatment

Couldn’t really decide between yellow, white and blue scales, so ordered blue and white ones. Yellow are amazing, but the ones I chose will suit my outfits better

The good news is that you dropped it where the liner is supported by the key ring nub.  Much better than coping with a bent liner as well.  Be sure to send a photo when you decide which color to use.  I know.  You could use one color on the front and a different one on the back.... ?  Maybe yellow on one side and blue on the reverse?  Best wishes. Gary

I wanted to do this long ago but sadly forgot exactly when I ordered replacement scales

Will have a pair of whites and blues this time, but surely will make a blue & yellow my next set at some point

One of the power outlets in the apartment we rent in the western part of Ukraine during the war is childproof. It is located in a small room where we have an iron and an ironing board and every day my wife struggles to plug an iron into that outlet, so today I decided to finally get it fixed. Unscrewed it using a Phillips on a Swiss Champ

But found the mechanism to not be detachable sadly.

So I found me another way around - remember me complaining about some poor quality Victorinox oil I bought at some point? I used it to lube the outlet safety mechanism a little bit and now it works like a charm

Being done with that I opened a few packages with a small blade and one of those had replacement scales

So I rewarded my Swiss Champ for being a trustworthy friend today - just as always

P.S. blue and orange lanyards are on the way too

That blue looks great.  Just like getting a new knife while still being able to keep the old one. What is the yellow and black thing that says Venture 30?  Best wishes Gary

Thanks

It’s actually a Goal Zero Venture 30 power bank that has a pretty nice led light in it - I always switch the power off when messing with outlets or switches, so I turned that led light on in order to see what I’m doing :) we have quite a few different lights around here in Ukraine because of the last winter’s blackouts. Frankly speaking we expect it to be the same this year too, but I’m still hoping it’ll be ok - at least now we’re a tad more experienced

Great job on the repair, and even better that you found a use for the funky oil. The SwissChamp looks great with those blue scales, too! :tu:

Ordinary red Spartan went along on the gas station and mail run this morning.  Spartan wasn't called on for duty, but stood ready, lurking, vigilant, hard Swiss muscles tensed.  There in the shadows.  Well, a dark pocket anyway.  Best wishes. Gary
