Looks like a Hogue screw.  I keep one of those telescoping magnetic things that look like a pen.  One of the handiest tools I own.  Best wishes. Gary

I sliced an apple, and then my finger, with my Champion Plus yesterday. The tip edge barely brushed my index finger and left a nice clean cut, very easy to bandage. At least I can be satisfied that my habit of not snapping the blade closed has kept the tip nice and sharp!

Vic Trooper went along on a trip down my driveway to the mailbox.  I used the saw to cut a sawbriar and several multiflora rose stems.  One nicely sized privet took a little while to saw through.  I took some time to see if something had gotten itself washed out of the ground by the last storm.  I found a small shard of pottery, but didn't bother to pick it up.  Low fired Cherokee terra cotta.  Then I found an old tool.  Really old.  Still had a nice edge.  Point had broken off.  Best wishes.  Gary  [ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Fixing the hand-towel-roll holder at work. The brackets to hold the roll were too far apart, so the roll fell through. Out came my SwissChamp XL. Using the inline philips screwdriver it was a work of three minutes. No action shots though, all hands were needed  :dunno:
Best regards and stay safe,

Wolfgang

Thanks fellas.  I find these artifacts all the time.  My home is situated between the old Cherokee towns of Cullasaja and Nikwasi.  People think of Nikwasi as just a man-made mound by the river, but it was a town.  There are various signs of people from years ago all along the waterways.  When the river levels are low, you can still see what is left of the fishing weirs.  The Muskogee lived just to the south.  Another mound builder culture may have built the mound.  Maybe Cherokee?  No written record.  Best wishes.  Gary

Forester helped to tune the lawn mower and then waited for a change to showcase the saw when I trimmed some front yard hedges. Unfortunately Fiskars Vesuri did all the work

Sometimes it's hard to figure out what something is from a photo.  I was scratching my head about the Fiskars tool.  I had to look online.  Bush ax or brush hook.  I have an ancient one already unless someone has carried it off.  Mine is dull as a froe.  I like the 111mm Vics and big Wengers.  One of these days if I'm good and do my chores and eat all my breakfast, maybe.....
Best wishes.  Gary

Could've been a better photo and wording I admit.

It's a simple Billhook or vesuri in Finnish.
General tool most versatile, methinks Fiskars also makes some overpriced garbage these days but their vesuris are still good value for money.

Good ergonomics, nice edge and light enough to use with one hand for longer periods, but can generate quite a lot of cutting power if needed.
Typically, if clearing/cutting small branches, brush, trees I'll take a good vesuri instead of a light axe/tomahawk up to an 1,25 inch or thereabouts of thickness to be cut. Beyond that an axe will carry more force making the job easier.

Italians call their version Roncola and at least in Piedmonte back in the days it was also used as a weapon. I'm somewhat familiar with this simple and very effictive template called roncola pienmontese. However, when dabbling with that particular skillset I do use my Fiskars instead of a tradiotional Italian roncola ;)

You made me curious.  I think I will look for mine in the tool shed.  It is theoretically sharpened on both sides and big as a full sized ax.  Mine has been broken at some time and welded back together.  Somebody 'borrowed' a lot of my tools.
I used to see the Woodsman's Pal.  That looked more like your handy one hand tool.  I think somebody still makes a version.  Probably Chinese now.  I like the look of your Fiskars better.  Best wishes.  Gary

Fixed up a jammed parking meter with my Recruit, with a coin and sticks jammed in.
People where paying with card and said "coins are out of order"...  I'm like, "no they're not"...  Broke out the Recruit and 1 min later i was putting in coins and getting my parking card. People in line thanked me.
No pics taken, but here's a generic one  :climber:

Not exactly a SAK, but I used my Victorinox ratchet and bit kit set to repair a Tomy train, at 5am, for my baby.
It was a nightmare of floating axles willing to fly out of the chassis...

One of my students brought his finger skateboard to me this morning and asked if I could fix it. One of the little nuts holding then wheel on fell off. I was able to use the tweezers on my Explorer to get it threaded back on. I never would have been able to do it with just my fingers.
