I am new to joining forums but have been reading them and various reviews online for a number of years.
and the most berated implement on an SAK has been the fish scaler hook remover. But I have found that if
you need a flat sided coffee stirring, scalloped edged wire stripping bread slicing pointed dig in the dirt save
your blade seed starting screw measuring straight edge unplug the end of a pipe bbq grill scaping stick
that double as a fish scaler it works pretty well.

I used the serrated blade on my Carver to cut through the rubber bands on some old tree support posts which had rotten and had to be removed. My foreman was watching and he was surprised to see how fast and smooth the blade did the job.

No pen? No Problem?

However uncomfortable the pen is, it's always there when I need it.
It's been used to write in all orientations, in bad weather and has been used to tighten screws.
It manages to make my bad handwriting even worse, but I wouldn't want to miss it for a thing.

Your writing with that pen looks better than my typing.

Used my 108mm Solo to peel an apple on the train.
The conductor shows up with two muscled guys.
Someone told the conductor there was someone with a knife.
*YAY* I clearly wasn't thinking pulling out a blade on a train.
Got a lecture about knives on trains, and had to surrender the Solo.
I mentioned that it was a 'collectors item' and that I carry a pocket knife since early childhood. We got talking, I showed him mine, he showed me his (111mm Spartan like model) we had a good laugh.
I got another firm warning and that was it.

Better think twice on a train next time.

Glad you did not lose it. Society has gotten silly stupid about knives and tools. I was not allowed into court (jury duty) because I had a wallet nija in my wallet found by the xray. I was given a choice to give it to them and not get it back or take it to my car.

I usualy get quite cocky in such a situation and reply with something like "I might just go home instead".

Never gets me anywhere  but atleast it's obvious I'm not amused by their ridiculous... smurf

Just made the Mrs a necklace out of paracord for her big butterfly pendant, used green to match and go with tonight's party colors, and I needed the saks scissors to cut and trim the paracord!

Yeah, that was funny. He only showed it when I told him I carried a SAK since childhood and that it's nothing more than a tool to me.
He said he understands and has a lot of use out of his too.
So I got a warning.
I'm not sure what the regulation is for railway personel. But seeing the use I get out of mine I can see the usefulness of a SAK to someone working on a train.

Wonder what the person who complained felt about it? We see the problem halved. But to them maybe it just doubled.
