Finally found a use for the hook. Changing the line on my baitcast reel, the line needs to be tied around the spool first. And at some point a pliers or long tweezer or.... The Hook needs to reach down in to feed the line around the spool. The hook was easy and doesn't damage the line.  Perfect ! Sorry about the poor quality tablet pic.

Yesterday I used my swisstool spirit x & ratchet kit to put together a kid's water table at a birthday party. Right after my lady called me a tool for carrying it around. Ha!

I take the side plate off of mine, put the line through the rod guides/ level wind and then pull it out the side plate area (after removing the spool). I tie it to the spool with an arbor knot and then put the spool back in.

But then you miss out on the hook experience 😉 Not to mention this is a Shimano Bantam Mag  XT from 1990 I bought new and forgot about until this month. The side plates don't pop off, they unscrew . But good idea using the new reels.

Ah! I went from quantum to shimano to Abu Garcia and settled on daiwa. I currently use a daiwa zillion with the TWS system. Upgraded drag, bearings, degreased it itself and used hot sauce lube (I swear by it). It's been amazing. I can cast crappie jigs easily. Don't use brakes and the cast control is tight enough where the spool doesn't have play and that's it. Worth every penny.

Nifty! Used mine in frustration twice back in the day lol. Didn't understand settings and technique then. Love it now. Ordered the Daiwa Fuego yesterday. Budget reel but seems people like 'em

Nice! I had the Shimano chronarch, Abu Garcia Revo SX and quantum accurist PT. The only spinning reels I own are ultra light sized reels for smaller fish. Back on topic, my fishing multitool is now my spirit x!

Just used the scissors on my Midnite Manager to cut a small piece of plastic to serve as a filler so I can use fake Parker refills in my fake Montblanc pen.

A trail lens fell apart, I used the micro screwdriver on my Handyman to fix it.

I was trying to make a cake yesterday.
Unfortunately the LCD on my scale broke.

I took it apart and put it back together. Apparently moisture has gotten in and did some damage.
The LCD is now only legible at a near 180° angle. I have to look at the side of the scales to read it  :ahhh

I tried to cut a clothesline with my Bushcrafter. Big fail - these lines are plastic with a steel core. My blade needs a bit of resharpening now.

A bit different.....it’s open range up here and I have been having a problem with a big Angus bull (think Mack truck 😛).  He  wanted the old moldy hay around the horse corrals and under the barbed wire fence and wouldn’t take “NO” for an answer.  My problem is that I didn’t want to find him inside the fence in the morning and have to figure out how to get him out.

Ran him off multiple times and he always came back when I left.  Went out to feed the horses about 10:30 PM and there he was, pushing against the fence and he had stretched the bottom wire.  So now I’m desparate.  I was carrying the Wenger Survivor  with the rescue whistle so I took it out and tried a long loud blast with it.  He took off like I had poked him with a pitchfork and hasn’t been back since.  😛

I doubt that Wenger had that in mind when they designed the Survivor, but it sure “rescued” me.
