Well when I moved to Georgia 16 years ago, I lucked out at the Walmart there on an overage stock on the Gerbers...$5.00 in the blister pack  :sa:
So not the one to pass up a good deal...I bought 4 of them. Gifted two to friends at work and then gave one to my son...he kinda laughed, but toook it. Well, why the chuckle then? Then he tells me why...
1. The Gerber opens faster but only for the plyers
2. When both are open, the Rebar allows instant access to the tools. The Gerber doesn’t.
3. The replaceable cutters on the Rebar, the Gerber doesn’t (on this one)
4. The tools open away from you on the Rebar, the Gerber doesn’t and the handle can get in the way.

I am not keen on the plastic on the Gerber  ???
I have seen a few now that have broken plastic  >:(

Just some every day casual stuff... scissors to open some envelopes, and cut open a couple of cat toys, and blade to open some blister packages

Used the sak to cut a hose, a regular garden hose that’s been sitting in a cold garage, I must say it was soo stiff and hard to cut but it did the job!

Ecoline Bantam.

Removed a ton of rug fibers, string, thread, and fishing line from the brush on the vacuum. Seriously, a whole hand full of the stuff!  Turned the coin-slot screws on the bottom with the combo tool, then cut the fibers with the blade.

Then I cut up some boxes. Vic's 440A-type steel really holds an edge!

Thus proving, that while the Bantam is a small and lightweight entry level SAK, it still can still do its fair share of real work.  I can't wait to add a more recent Economy version with nylon scales and scale tools.  This one is so old, it still has the Swiss Federal emblem (I'm thinking late 1980s).
