@kung, That's a very expensive Spartan...I Frankenstein'd one.

A tale worthy of being archived...

Car trouble, today my Master Craftsman helped replace my distributor cap, but wasn't the right tool for the rotor. Needed a 8mm ratchet.

Well it seems the task was greater then the tale...It was a pain in the butt.

its a cool set isnt it (but very expensive when you consider that its just an unassebled spartan).
but i just had to have it!
i believe you can only buy it from victorinox flagship stores with an assembley press on the premises,
luckily London has one :D

Nothing too special but I used the corkscrew on my SAK to open a couple of bottles of wine.

I thought usually, the whole is supposed to be 'more than the sum of it's parts', with Vic, sometimes it seems the other way around :P What other company can say that?

Pretty much what I was getting at...

As a display piece, cool. But if you actually assemble it...you assemble it and it'll loose all it's value to the point where you might as well of just bought a regular Spartan.
But I can't knock another collector... just wont.

My son had a pumpkin, and he wanted the seeds out of it, well the wife grabbed a kitchen knife and it only scratched it, so I grabbed a bigger knife and it pretty much did nothing! So I went and got my farmer, poked it through and sawed it all the way around it! Hey it worked! So now the wife's got the seeds cooking in the oven, I'm not a seeds fan nor pumpkin, but it smells pretty good around the house! Oh and the saks clean, cause it got dirty, but it sparkles now! :D JR

Don't you love that, first you gotta take whatever cover the toy has off of it, and then you find out after spending the last 15min cursing at it trying to get to the freaking panel, now you need a dang screwdriver to open it! But that can opener works wonders! JR

I just used my OHMasterRT to cut a pretzel bun in half for a tuna sandwich I made for lunch tomorrow.  That combo blade is great at slicing bread :tu:

I used my Wenger Evo 14 (with its new "standard scales") to open boxes of Christmas gifts from Amazon.  Earlier, I used my SwissChamp to open Ikea boxes my wife brought back from a shopping trip.  However, when it came time to cut up all the cardboard to go into our recycling bin, I turned to a fixed-blade box cutter.

I used the Awl on an Alox Electrician to punch a new hole in my belt.  :D  just another sign that I'm (finally) losing some of that gut I developed in 5 years of a desk job.

Got me a hoagie while out and they didn't cut the thing in half, and I ain't going to pick the whole thing up every time I take a bite, so I used my farmer sak to cut it in half! JR

This didn't happen today, but anywho, about a week ago, a girl at school asked for a knife so that she could cut some fruit. I was the only one around with a knife, a Vic. Camper.  :D

After I handed her the knife, she cut what she needed to cut, and cleaned the blade and handed it back to me, and we chatted a bit. It turns out she also sorta likes SAKs, and actually bought a Classic in Switzerland.  :)

Used the nail file in the Signature to "repair" a nail that got seriously split in half (all the way into the fingertip) and the Sportsman to make a sandwich for breakfast.

I had to do the same with the file (not really a nailfile though, it's a metal/wood file) on my OHMasterRT a couple weeks back.  I don't think I mentioned it here   While I didn't split mine, I hit it off something on a table while reaching for something and it gouged a piece back.  I had to file it down a ways to smoothen/even it out.  The metal file doesn't make the best nailfile, but it does work in a pinch, and it chews the nail right down fairly quickly.  It did the job for me, and I'm glad as the nail would have driven me nuts if I hadn't been able to fix it.

Yup, me too. Cold out here, lots of clothing, wool pullovers and sweaters and whatnot. Keep sticking the open nail into them...

Yeah, I was working outside and would have had to deal with that nail for the remainder of the day, which would have been annoying as I have to wear gloves in that job (my dad's wreathing side business), and take them off and put on frequently.

My wife used the straight pin in my Yeochamp to poke open Vitamin E gel caps as an ingredient to some kind of scrub she was making.  Earlier today, I used the scissors on my Ranger Plus to trim an unusually long eyebrow hair, like seriously longer than the rest...weird

Got my first SAK (Tinker) on this past Wednesday and have found it to be a superb apple cutter these past couple of days during lunch.   :)  This morning, while waiting for my car to warm up, I used the flat screwdriver to pry off a radio button that was sticking due to mysterious gunk that had somehow gotten behind it.  Cleaned it up and works like new!

Here's the scary thing...it's been only 3 days since buying the first SAK, and I already own three!   >:D The Tinker, a Classic (given to my wife to replace the one confiscated by TSA a couple of years ago), and now a Super Tinker as well which will reside in my glovebox.  Let the addiction begin...

I had previously been carrying a LM Juice S2 as my EDC, but I think I'm going to move to my LM Micra on my keychain, and the Tinker in my pocket.  This will cover pretty much all my needs, as I rarely need pliers, and when I do I have a LM Wave in my car and a LM Pulse at my desk in the office.  Good to go!
