This has happened before, and Amazon was good at shipping them fairly quickly.

I have given the Swiss quite a bit of money this season, but I am a cheapo. 6 $16.50 red cadets shipped, $25 farmer from felinevet shipped, 3 SIs in the foreign land where I reside, and quite a few tsa specials from the flea auction, and now the shiny new big boy. Oh yeah, and a touch of modding too!

I just noticed that they have the Vic heritage soldier for $288, which is the cheapest I've seen.  I think it is also eligible for the $10 off, so it would be $278.

Spirit X is "temporarily out of stock" on Amazon as of today.  Apparently they have more on the way.  I ordered one anyway (my 2nd), and was notified that delivery is expected after Christmas sometime.

Nice!! It's great that sometimes you can still get a deal like this from Amazon.  I recently scored a couple silver Spirit-S models, and even though they are discontinued, I paid more than the $43 Amazon price for the Spirit-X.

Which version of the plus kit?  Did you get the ratchet head or the right angle bar?  The ratchet is an amazing bit of engineering, but bits do try to push their way through.

Also, if you can find a Cordura pouch for ~$6, you can save a few bucks on the X plus pouch option.

I went with the bar, I feel like the ratchet is a bit fiddly. I know everyone swears by the thing, but in a tool that size, I trust a solid chink of metal more than moving parts. I also got it with the far superior nylon sheath, can't stand the leather/velcro one.
