Bourne Legacy:  5 out of 10.  I loved the other Bournes, but this one just did not have the interest or the action.  Something was missing - maybe different writers, directors?  It had moments of excitement, but it disappointed.

funnily enough I'm reading the book right now.  I've not seen the film but I'm sure I'll get around to it eventually. :)

The Expendables 2 - 6.5 out of 10. Good, but not great.

Bourne Legacy:  5 out of 10.  I loved the other Bournes, but this one just did not have the interest or the action.  Something was missing - maybe different writers, directors?  It had moments of excitement, but it disappointed.

The Bourne Legacy was the first book Robert Ludlum wrote after he died and the Bourne movies made it big.  Like the rest of the series it has absolutely nothing to do with the movies.  In it, Jason Bourne's son, who was supposed to have been killed with the rest of his family in Cambodia (the catalyst that transformed David Webb into the killing machine he became, and the reason he killed Jason Bourne and took his identity to infiltrate a group of mercenaries) is all grown up having survived the attack after all, and now wants to kill him.

This idea of writing books "in the style of..." certain authors and trying to credit it back to them is really stupid.  If anyone could do it then what would have made that author special in the first place?

But then, what is the point of making movies based on books and naming them after those books when they have absolutely nothing to do with the book in question?  It's false advertising really.

Saw Dredd a couple of nights ago 7/10.
Like Die Hard 1 on a bigger building..
A lot less Sci-fi than the Sly version..

Al : "Women!"

I like the grittiness they seem to put in superhero movies lately...

A few I've watched recently are...
Best Laid Plans http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1764198/
The Veteran http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1653700/
Cloud Atlas http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1371111/

And the very bizarre Nipples and Palm Trees http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1630052/

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
