Seconds hand on a watch.

I was on a watch forum and someone mentioned there seconds hand was not aligned with the time markings. I had noticed this on my Wenger and thought about it a few times, but it keeps perfect time so I kind of forgot about it until today. My question is, is this a problem. I guess I already answered my own question since it keeps perfect time, but is this warranty worthy or can my local jeweler adjust it easily? Should I even care? Honestly it bugs the hell out of me, but is it worth the trouble?

I'm one of those that if something isn't working properly it bugs the hell out of me. I would take it in just to see if there's a fix

Let it go. It isn't worth the time, effort or anxiety it causes. And to be honest I believe it's the alignment between the case and the watch movement itself.
(If I am wrong this is the time to chime in watch modders/fixers etc..)
Enjoy it for what it is a good quality watch that keeps time and looks good on your wrist.

This is more common than you think on analog watches. (Except high end ones)
The second hand is put on at a certain angle while mounting thecaliber, usually at 12´00.
The movement has some "play" between any 2 second positions, so sometimes the hand will miss the second mark by a margin.
As long as the caliber works exactly (like you told us) this is hardly a warranty issue, but can be annoying. I´d visit a reputed Watchmaker and ask him to see to this.
Having a watchmaker work at this will likely not void your warranty.
He needs to take the second hand off and reposition it, maybe a few times, until the hand hits the marks. This can be time consuming and may be expensive, so ask before you hand him the watch.
I would advise not to check all of your analog watches, one can become a bit obsessed with those details.
I hope this made any sense...

Lowtech is exactly right, and it's such a minor thing that it's really not worth your time, effort and money. It is akin to getting upset that the logos on your hubcaps don't line up and aren't right side up every time your car stops. If that starts to bother you too now that I've mentioned it, buy a Rolls Royce as the center caps on the wheels are weighted so they are always facing the right way up.

I wouldn't worry about it. It's most likely what Swiss Man said: a misalignment between the movement and the case.

Been there, got pissed off and then made peace with it!
For a watch that didn't cost thousands, I'm prepared to accept such foibles.

I have some 25 watches and several are analog with dates.
Ever short month I would get all them out and roll the dates forward just because it would drive me nuts if they weren't right (even though I don't wear a lot of them anymore).
Since then I stopped doing it and guess what the world hasn't ended.

Thanks everyone. I feel at ease about it now. It is what it is and the main thing is that it keeps perfect time.
I feel better now..........This forum is like a stress reliever.
