Thoughts on the Leatherman Z-Rex and its performance?
on: January 02, 2013, 07:58:09 AM
I just ordered my leatherman Z-Rex safety tool and want to hear some of its pros and cons about it and want to know if it was a good decision to go with leatherman over Benchmades safety tool. what are your thoughts on that?

Keep a set of gloves near it.  If you ever need to use the glass breaker you will need to protect your hands or you will cut yourself pretty bad.  The same goes for all glass breakers, but especially for the kind where they expect you to hammer your fist into the glass.

Quite frankly I think you are better off with a ResQ-Me, Raker Ring Tool or Benchmade ERT-1/Houdini Pro, but I really have nothing against the Z-Rex itself.

Any chance you could post a picture of the Z-Rex in its sheaht mounted on your belt? Im trying to get an idea of its size.

I currently carry a Benchmade 7 Hook and im considering getting the Z-Rex, but im not too keen on its size.

The Z Rex is closer in size to the BM 8 Hook, which is about twice the length (give or take) from the 7 Hook.
