I read on the shipping label "repaired pocket tool" in value of CHF 20  :) So I guess it is an older SAK that you sent there to be repaired, not the Damascus Pioneer, but is just a guess.

hahaha... :D
Thank you guys, you made me laugh a lot.
So let's start to unfold the mystery SAK.

First i have to say that it isn't the Damascus Pioneer.
The defect on the blade was not a real defect, and after a search i found out that a lot of them had produced with these blades.
Also the Damascus Pioneer it isn't old.

As for the finger bone of Karl Elsener, i tried to find one but they all were sold in private collections.
(my God what i am writing) :megaslap:

Also for the Wenger or Gerber, come on you guys, that is sacrilegious.
Well almost not for Wenger, because as we know Victorinox owns Wenger.

Marius you have guessed right, it's a old SAK that i had sent for repair.

So the mystery SAK is a ........

An old Swiss Soldier's knife of 1924 !

I have sent it for exchanging the broken and bent scales with new ones from old stock.
They made an excellent repair, even if the scales doesn't fit 100% to the knife.
I was informed from Victorinox that the scales will not be fit exactly to the knife, because these scales are from the last old stock that they have.
Still as it is, its superb with these scales.

As for the reason that i was not expecting it so soon, is because i haven't pay them so far for the repair, because the wonderfull Greek banks want's 35 euros for fee !  :twak:
They sent it back to me even without payment. What you have to say about Victorinox customer support ?  :D
Finally i was able to found a way to pay them without any extra fee.

They also clean it, polished it and sharpen the blade and the other tools.
The blade now is razor sharp, i almost cut myself just by touching the edge.

But the best thing about this old knife is something else, truly unique and awesome...

Did you noticed why i not show to you the other side of the knife ?
Can you guess ?  >:D  (yes i know that i am a very bad person ::))

You have guessed right.
This old soldier's SAK has engraved at the main blade the initials and the battalion of the soldier that owned it.

This knife probably has seen some real action.

This SAK is my oldest Swiss knife in my collection and i am very happy that i was able to buy it.

McChouffe you've got me there, but i thank you for that, because i didn't remember how it was.
Also i didn't remember that i had uploaded a photo of it.

Holy Smurf that's just beautiful and has a history behind it. Truly amazing. Thank you for posting this.  :tu:

Can anyone point me in the direction where one would find something like this. Obviously not engraved, but a SAK of the same period. I can not afford it now, but I would like to start looking. Thanks.

PM me please as to not thread jack this.

Really nice there mate!

I really wish they still made them like this to be honest. And preferably not just as a colector's version that people won't be able to afford (well except people around here who'd still buy them ) but as a regular model. I know I'd buy one.  :D

Captain, I've got one with clippoint blade from 1940 if you like. This one has been issued to the swiss military, not privat ("WK" mark on the scale, and no "P" marking on the tang).
It does need some TLC, but lifetime warrenty so you could send it to Ibach! :D

I agree with you. If they ever decide to remake the old soldier's knives, i will be the first to buy them. :tu:
But the old metal blade and tools is something unique and it will never be made again.

They look a lot more comfortable to use as well, thicker and a bit more rounded.

But yeah.. I guess they're a thing of the past sadly.

Great find there :)
