I didn't get to vote but I'd say Compact or Climber. Compact for sure...
Midnite Manager or Rambler on your keychain...

Have a translucent orange Manager on my keychain. It comes in handy. Makes people go, "Would you look at that" when I use the pen.

Am thinking I should had gotten the Explorer, despite the extra layer in it.

A couple years after turning 50 my eyes seems to have gotten bad for micro fine print. Might be due to sitting behind a computer too much... figured now that those annoying bi-focals could come into great use I still cannot see rather small or faint letters & numbers. :grr:
Getting the subject into better lighting seems to help, yet am finding myself wishing there was a magnifier nearby more often now.

But which magnifier was the best for reading small letters and numbers, older or new?? ???

The older one has the highest magnification (8x), but I would think the newer one (6x) would be sufficient as well.  It also has a slightly larger view window, if that may be a factor for your consideration.  I have the old version and the 2nd version (plastic one, 5x), and both work fine as far as I'm concerned :tu:

At the momemnt I don't own a newer type
but I'll fulfill this "need" asap  :ahhh  :D

If one were to get their first Swiss Army Knife, which one(s) do y'all recommend?

Never owned an original, and am curious as to what comes most recommended.  :tool:

:D Found it! :D Right where I left it too. :D

Yes, though it changed 2012 according to SAKWiki, so you'd better make sure what version it is if you prefer a glass one as the plastic version is bound to be abundant on used knives and even new old stock.

I do like the grey mag glass because the  phillips screwdriver were a little bit longer than the one with clear mag glass.

Btw my first SAK was a Swisschamp, then I switch to Deluxe Tinker and right now I in love with my Yeoman Mechanic. Inline phillips screwdriver and pliers in a 4 layers package.
