I've got a nice slippy made by Shuggs on BB with mammoth tooth as the scale. I believe it had to be stabilised though, or would probably fall apart! It's amazing material

(Image removed from quote.)

I made the little bag for it... needed to make it somewhere nice to sleep  :)

Superb knife with those scales! And same as nice bag you made for it. Do you have photos of the little knife with the blade opened? Also, how big is it? If you don't mind that I am asking. Anyways, again, that's a truly beautiful folder there

I don't I'm afraid. It's a small clip point which sits flush on the backspine.

Thanks for the kind words y'all :)

That really is beautiful, that's a great example of why I like natural material.   We need some reasonable priced SAKs with nice handles like that.

Victorinox called today and said they couldn't remove scale to fix it due to it would crack and they had no way to replace it. She then said we will grind it some to make it sit better on the one side but it still won't cover handle on other end. I said no just send it back as is. My first victorinox warranty request and it didn't end well. I guess they have no more mammoth tusk anywhere. I think I'll give victorinox swiss an email and see what they say. :(

Me thinks German would be 1st for them in Ibach. Then maybe French. But I am sure they can communicate well in English. For example our fellow Marios here (who's from Greece) as I remember mailed them a letter written in English accompanying a SAK repair and they replied the same - right, Marios?

Good luck, Ash!

Let's make a quick test, my previous reply:

Ich denke, Deutsch wäre die erste Wahl für sie in Ibach sein. Dann vielleicht Französisch. Aber ich bin sicher, sie können auch in Englisch zu kommunizieren. Zum Beispiel unsere Mitbürgerinnen und Marios hier (wer aus Griechenland), wie ich schickte sie einen Brief in englischer Sprache verfasst Begleitung eines SAK Reparatur und sie antworteten die gleiche erinnern - rechts, Marios?

Of course. I amused myself a bit with this. Still, for some quick job when nothing else is available such an online translator can be very useful.
