Victorinox 100 years number of copies
on: March 20, 2008, 11:07:13 AM
I am trying to find out how many copies were made for each of the 100 years models:

Victorinox 100 year Anniversary 1884-1984:

http://img120.imageshack.us/my.php?image=18841984ny9.jpg
There should be more then 10,000
The classic isn't numbered only the Champion is.
(I got the duo set and if I am not mistaking there is a Spartan model as well)

Victorinox Centennial Edition 1891-1991:

http://img211.imageshack.us/my.php?image=18911991sh7.jpg
Thats easy because there is a document with the knife that says 5000 copies.

Victorinox 100th Anniversary of the swiss army knife 1897-1997:

http://img120.imageshack.us/my.php?image=18971997bz3.jpg
There should be more then 15,000.
(I got Spartan and SwissChamp)

Yah, very nice SAM!

I imagine NutSAK might be able to answer your question. He's away at the moment, but should be back on the air in a day or two.

Thanks for the complements  :)
I am a small time collector and this is "my thing" - I like anniversary knives.

I will wait for NutSAK and hope he know the numbers, it is just I feel like I have to know the amount.
I saw 1897-1997 Spartan with number 15,000 and something.
My 1884-1984 Champion is #10259

EDIT: I found the picture I was looking for - the one that contains the Spartan 1884-1984 (I am not mistaking - it is a Spartan right ?)

Took it from that post

I was just talking to Def today about the different 100th Anniversary knives (I thought there was two).

I have the 1897-1997 Spartan. Tomorrow I am getting the 1891-1991 for $35.00.

All I need is a 1884-1984. Does anyone have an extra? I figured since I have Def credit card # money is no object.

I don't know the production numbers of those knives, unfortunately.  You may want to contact James Christian from his website here: http://e-webtechnologies.com/sak/  I think that might be your best bet to find that kind of information.

I contacted Jamie from SAKcollector.com (I took his email from WHOis)
He is a nice person, quick response but unfortunly he don't have that information.

Any suggestion on how to get those numbers or who to contact now ?
(or should I drop it ?)

You're best bet at this point would be to contact the manufacturer.

I am back with some answers  :mail:
I message Victorinox.com and I got some answers:

Victorinox 100th Anniversary of the swiss army knife 1897-1997:

http://img120.imageshack.us/my.php?image=18971997bz3.jpg
1.3603.J97 (Spartan) "Jubiläumsmesser 100 Jahre Offiziersmesser" 1997 = 52'510 copies
1.6794.J97 (SwissChamp) "Jubiläumsmesser 100 Jahre Offiziersmesser" 1997 = 35'980 copies
And they put a link to this image as well:
http://b2b.victorinox.ch/A219/100%20years%20Swiss%20Army%20Knife.JPG

Victorinox 100 year Anniversary 1884-1984:

http://img120.imageshack.us/my.php?image=18841984ny9.jpg
0.6203.JU (Classic) "Jubiläumsmesser 100 Jahre Victorinox" 1984 - 41'300 copies
0.3603.JU (Tourist) "Jubiläumsmesser 100 Jahre Victorinox" 1984 - 12'800 copies (I don't have one)
0.4603.JU (Tinker) "Jubiläumsmesser 100 Jahre Victorinox" 1984 - 9'800 copies (I don't have one)
1.5793.JU (I think it is the Champion Plus) "Jubiläumsmesser 100 Jahre Victorinox" 1984 - 15'640 copies
And they put a link to this image as well:
http://b2b.victorinox.ch/A219/Logo%20100%20Jahre%20Victorinox.JPG

Victorinox Centennial Edition 1891-1991:

http://img211.imageshack.us/my.php?image=18911991sh7.jpg
Thats easy because there is a document with the knife that says 5000 copies.
But for some reason they didn't sent any information about this one  ???

OK and now for the intresting part:
Here is one I didn't know it exists:
1.3713.91 Jubiläumsmesser 700 Jahre Eidgenossenschaft 1991 - 30'580 copies
1.3603.91 Jubiläumsmesser 700 Jahre Eidgenossenschaft 1991 - 53'440 copies
0.6223.91 Jubiläumsmesser 700 Jahre Eidgenossenschaft 1991 - 25'730 copies
Images:
http://b2b.victorinox.ch/A219/700%20Jahre%20Eidgenossenschaft.JPG

Anyone know about those ?

And now I am have to get them as well (and the 1984 Tourist/Tinker as well).

If you got more information about those knives feel free to contact me.
