I know this is super nerdy of me, but I REALLY wanted to know how they solved the blade saftey pin issue on the New Surge...

I found it, if you notice here in this photo of another LM preview vid, the locking pins are visable on the inside of the handles.



This is how...look at the plier head in the latest video. The chamfered 'shoulders' nest inside those locking pins. Clever ducks!



Looks like this is how I'll be approaching any of my Surge/ST300 mods in the future (still got a few more to do and with the tools on hand, why even bother buying a new one!)

hi metro, is it possible to reshape my surge heads to accept the replacable cutters?? (sorry if it sounds a stupid question.)

Not enough room. Also there isn't enough material. Also, by the time you achieve it, it would be worth the time of at least 3 ST300's

I know a guy with a computerized milling machine in his garage who could do it, but he would charge you several times what a new one with replaceable blades would cost.

think i'll get a st300 instead, don't see the point of buying a new surge with the rep/wire cutters when i already have a surge, thanks for offer anyway
