The last two links aren't working for me.

It's a necessary part of my EDC, as is my pen. I carry a small notebook I cut to size in my wallet too. But I'd never consider them multitools.

What if it had a ruler, some conversion charts and a list of your fears? That at least it make it a tool with multiple functions...

The question is of no consequence to me personally, but I can't resist posting a pic of my Scully 5007A Daily Planner. It's my most used tool, and it certainly has multiple uses. I've never seen another one like it, although apparently they are still made.

Here it is with my carved-down golf pencil that fits in the wire-wound spine of the annual insert:

And here's the Scully company logo embossed inside the leather pocket of the front cover:

Nah, it's not a tool, it's a notebook :D

The only thing you can cut with it is yourself, which leads to an extraordinary amount of pain for something so trivial!

I thought that was the minimum requirement to be classed as a multitool

I don't need a notebook very often, but as part of my EDC, a small business card wallet is perfect for containing a Fisher Bullet Pen, a Swisscard Classic, a small pad of sticky notes, and some spare currency.

And oh... a place to put the business cards I'm given.

Sounds like you're describing the book:"THE POCKET REF".   That is truly a multitool caliber book, since it covers everything from thread counts on screws up to a sucking chest wound!

Have anybody hacked a notebook cover to work as an OK bottle opener? Sounds like a fun project. Perhaps an aluminium cover to slip over a conventional notebook? Or something in the style of the saner suggestions given as improvements to the infamous iPhone-based multitool?  :climber:

Looked and still nothing. Weird. I'll find one, one day. For now I'll use the Internet and my phone.

That really is a handy reference.  I could imagine if you are working as a trades person, and need to do a lot of conversion, or genuinely interested in science.

I had to vote no.  I have a pocket notebook on me daily, but it serves no functions other than taking notes which mostly involves me copying addresses or measurements and sometimes book titles when one is recommended.

Can't seem to find an ebook version, shame, would be perfect for that.

Found it on Amazon in paperback. I didn't take the time to check for an e-book, but, if available, it should be there.

 https://www.amazon.com/Pocket-Ref-4th-Thomas-Glover/dp/1885071620/ref=pd_sim_14_1/145-3815343-5109140?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=1885071620&pd_rd_r=035b1376-7cf6-11e9-ba98-0ff29dc49ff2&pd_rd_w=AkNIX&pd_rd_wg=YfvBo&pf_rd_p=90485860-83e9-4fd9-b838-b28a9b7fda30&pf_rd_r=JFCJNXZ9J7WG0RH0P93X&psc=1&refRID=JFCJNXZ9J7WG0RH0P93X

That's one thing I never quite seems to understand, of all kind of 'reference' book, having this as an ebook will be so much more efficient and effective.  You could literally do a search and all relevant info and cross-reference will be available.

I carried a notebook at work for years. Now I have a moleskine cahier that serves my work and none work notebook. Thing is they get used up quickly due to having twice as many notes in. Once I get through my supply of notebooks I think I'll try a different brand. If you used a gel pen or such on the moleskine it tends to bleed through quite a bit.

I agree. I used to use the cahiers but after filling out so many it just became a bother trying to keep track of what notebook you had written something in. The softcover classic works for me far better.

Yeah I have one of those and a reporter's.  I use a cheapo a4 for meetings. The beauty of the cahier is they fit in my uniform shirt pocket.

I have a Mead in my back pocket right now. Just used it to start a grocery list. Unless the notebook had something like conversion tables, formulas or a ruler printed on or inside the cover, it is not a multitool. But if it does have those, in a way, it is a multitool.
