A pair of scissors in that one and I can die in peace.

Man, that really is drool worthy.  I wish I could do multicolored anodizing.  Red shield on black looks SO nice.

I wonder if I used a concentrated sodium hydroxide solution and a q-tip if I could remove the anodizing on a black shield, and then have them rerun in red anodizing.  My dream combination would be black scale, red shield, red liners.

I'm not sure about the red liners personally (never saw one), but if you want to give it a shot, I'd volunteer my mod as your guinea pig.

That black number is lovely, although I'm probably in the "shove some scissors in it" club too!

As for the Duchess (has it also been called a Dogbone?), I have completely forgotten about those and still really want one :dd:

My original grail SAK was a First Mate, and I managed to pick one up a few years back luckily. However, there have been many others which caught my eye, and if I really knew which one was the ultimate, I could just hunt it down and stop buying all the other ones when I can.... let's be honest, that's just not going to happen ;)

Glad you did not post a pic with the awl opened.  :D

Thanks for the pics mate!  :salute:

The former awl is more sexier than the newer version. I like how it seems to be an integral part of the knife as opposed to being an accessory. Like the older vehicles with their sculpted and form-fitting contours. Vintage is sexy.  :D

Probably very useful but no English, so it all gets very tricky! :)

Did someone mention the Swiss Railway Soldier....... ;)
One of the hardest alox knives to find in great shape, let alone NIB.

I have two in my collection.  :salute:

One of the few I would still like to own would be the red soldier from Roger at Swiss Bianco a few years back.
But he only made a few of them and never officially sold them.

I'd settle for one in not so good condition personally
