The only thing I might comment on is a saw is not loads better in the hands of a tempermental 4 year old than a blade, so I can't put a saw in there. I think a file would be okay, if I could find one that'd slot in with little/no mod.
How about a fish scaler?
Okay... so I'm looking at a way to get a kid (10-years-old) a more 'real' multitool, after seeing he's pretty responsible with one. The problem is, he's the oldest of 3 kids in the house, and while I might trust him with a blade I don't trust that his siblings might get a hold of the tool. So, if you were simply to remove the blade on the Wingman, and the copper washer and replace the screw, would this cause any problems with the tool? Like putting extra strain on the frame next to the plier head since the blade isn't there to support it? Not sure if that makes sense, but that's the only potential problem I can think of...Also, what's the size of the Torx screw on the Wingman?
Get a heavy fiberglass cut-off wheel to remove the blade entirely, then file the edges off. Or put a spork in there!

But more importantly, it ALSO allows the blade to be put back in when all the kids are able to be reasonably trusted with a blade in the house, or the oldest son has his own room, and can keep his younger siblings from messing with his MT.

Just put on a finger print scanner that only lets him open the blade!
BTW - Is this young man the reason for the "Knifeless Fuse" in the wanted section??
