Swisstools with files

I know this isnt a huge problem and it does exsist on most Swisstools with files ( std and X models ) .Once the handles are open it only takes a slight brush with your finger to knock the file off its rest place and fall inside the tool . This isnt a major problem or one that effects the way the tool performs but it is a little annoying .On one of my Swisstools there is marks on the edge of the plier head from when you shut the tool and the plier head re- seats the file . The files are not bent and the Swisstool that is the worst the file has never been used . Anyone else find this a little annoying ?

I noticed it when I first got mine so I bent the file so it wouldn't scrape the pliers head.

Does not bother me at all until you want to trade or sell the tool and the other person says "look the pliers are scratched"

I tried mine...the file doesn't move anywhere when it's locked open or closed. It's a newer 05 model I think, whatever the "newest" design is.

Even pushing it in with my fingers, it won't budge.

My STD. 1998 model has the same problem.. But my 05 RS, STD, and X all don't have it!

I have this problem with the Std. SwissTool, but the black one doesn't have it. Also, i found that file in the black ST is thicker than in the silver one.

It seems to be a widespread feature .Cant see it being a problem but just an annoying observation . Funny how when you notice something you can help keep looking at it

I dont think I will bend the file

I may run the risk of it binding on the other side if I bend it too much .

Interesting observation about the Black swisstool file .

My ST is an 05 model and I have never noticed this but now it has been mentioned I will have to get into work to pick it up and check I left it after taking it in to put new desks together but this will drive me nuts 'till I get to find out

This is something I'm trying to find out . My std Swisstools with files are both older ones . My RS , the boats RS and a mates RS are all newer ones but dont have files

Carl please dont let this put you off getting a Swisstool , it really isnt a problem more of an observation .

Like Dunc said, it's really not a problem more of an observation

, all swisstools are bulletproof so don't let anything put you off getting one

its just that this tool has had plenty of time to mature since 1999 but nontheless, its probably still the best on the market right now for my needs
