I'm thinking old school normal screen.

11:00 on the 16th Central African time, should be one of the first in the world. The joys of having a public holiday on the 16th that they pushed the release forward for.

Given the option of seeing it at the premier on the 16th in 3D or 2D what would you choose?

No IMAX option for me unfortunately.

I'm going to the the 2D version with my daughter - Not really that into 3D.

So... I heard it will be launched in China too.

In the cinema near me it will run for 2 weeks non-stop simultaneously in 8 screening rooms.

And that's in a smallish town in poor, pirate-ridden Romania...

So... what do you think? Highest grossing movie all-time?

I already wear glasses, so I feel a little awkward squeezing additional 3d lenses over them. Although I have enjoyed 3d in the theatre a couple times I prefer 2d.

I'm going to see it on the 19th, so I'll just have to keep away from this thread for a few days after it comes out.

I reckon it might be a better idea to start a new Spoiler thread for those who have seen it and wish to discuss...

that keeps this one open for those who haven't

My buddy bought tickets for December 17th as soon as they went on sale.

He has an extra one, so I'll be going to see it in IMAX on the 17th.

First time seeing a Star Wars movie in a theatre since I saw the original back in 1977.

I get these Scotia Bank scene points every-time I use my debit card. I reckon I have 6 free movies at the moment. Time to take me and the girlfriend out when it comes out. Might wait a day or two till the crowd thins out though.
A little Leatherman information.

Yes, I am also going to give it a few days but don't tell my wife I am taking the girlfriend.

A friend of mine is going to the UK VIP London premiere and after party on Wednesday.
So lucky that he will get to meet some of the cast and crew.  :ahhh

I think that sounds like good grounds for mugging your friend and stealing his identity. >:D  I really don't think anyone would blame you. :D

It's sounding like I'm going to have to disconnect from the internet until I get a chance to see it, likely at least a week after it starts showing... need to drive to a city 1h away to see the original version, small theatre, likely not many tickets available for some time

and that sounds like a good excuse to take a short flight up to the UK. :D
