I think this was a lazy call on Disney's part. I'm welcoming it if they do a good job, but if they kriff it up, someone's head need to hollowed out by Ewoks.

The animation in the helmets is new. The audio over it was just clips from Clone Wars, mostly Rex and the Dominos.

The "new" approach to that base is just a slightly more finished version of something from one of the episodes that got as far as the animatics. It was leaked, and this animatic for this particular episode is on Youtube here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypzCR5gctkQ

I won't lie, I wasn't impressed by the Bad Batch story arc, the members of the team... bothered me. THey feel like heavy handed, clumsy stereotypes. The only good thing about Taskforce 99 is that they paid homage to one of the greatest of their brothers, but they didn't feel like clones. However, even in animatics form, I could see one detail- Rex had the scar where his chip was pulled. Fives didn't fail.

The last few seconds is newish. Everyone approaching the holo of Ahaoka and Bo Katan is another cleaned up animatic, but that holo is new.

That being said, if we can see the Seige of Mandelor, I'm in. I'll put up with a LOT to see Ahsoka, the 332nd, Bo Katan, and maybe even a young Ursa Wren....

And on that review from the grumpy mando, I'll also give everyone one of my favorite bits of fan work

I'm not sure I dig the new art style, but it will grow on me undoubtedly. I will NOT be like the mynock humping sleemos who hated Rebels and never gave it a chance because they didn't like the art. Filoni has a lot of influences, and sometimes he's unsubtle with honoring them even by my standards.

I am wondering if the lead is going to be Snap Wexley- if so, keep the guy who wrote Empire's End as far away from the writing team as is possible, and someone can give the kid some personality. Watching the New Republic fail will be painful, but... Filoni. I have hope. This is suggesting that the "if there is no military, there will be no war" notion that Mon Mothma had was subverted and infiltrated early on.

And I hope that Master Filoni's love of the Mandalor culture continues.

He's no longer involved since he's gone back to clone wars apparently

I know Filoni is overseeing the completion of TCW, Season 6, but I was given to understand this was under his umbrella as well. I sure hope so.

I"m going to cling to this hope.

Otherwise... *sigh*

So right now, Resistance is a bit different, in that I'm not on that day-to-day. I created and set it in motion, but I've given that to other people to raise up, people that I've worked with a long time, who I think deserve the opportunity to tell stories and I think it's exciting, and I give them my thoughts and notes – I was just doing that this morning, like George would give me. So that's fun.

Empire Strikes Back was on TV yesterday afternoon over here, it's still a good movie after all these years.  Return of the Jedi is on next Sunday.

For all those fans who somehow think Rose ruined one of the Star Wars films, just remember some of us saw Jar-Jar bloody Binks in the cinema.

Rose was worse than Jar Jar. At least Jar Jar became a Sith. Rose just ruined half a movie. The other half was ruined by bad jokes and space walking Leia.

And Rogue One is the best star wars since the original trilogy. Fite meh!

That being said I haven't seen episode 9 or the Solo movie. When they hit the bargain bin I might drop a few bucks for em.
