25th Ann Wave on eBay...
on: January 27, 2013, 05:58:30 AM
Should I? It's well over $300 for a polished Wave with a printed sig of Tim leatherman. I already have a 25th ann Charge.

Hmmmmm

Why not? If you only live twice. Second life comes after 50. Then you play catch-up.  :pok:

When's the last time you saw it on sale?  Have a light user and then have a pass me down to your children.

That BO one is not in mint condition. Guess the seller never heard of using a Perigree green eraser or one of the file cleaner erasers from Home Depot before taking a photo.

They are all signature stamped, there's one in a blister package for $99 currently. Guess it depends upon how bad you want a cardboard box, manuals, and the special nylon sheath that is rare in itself.

Myself, if I had the money for one, I'd go for the blister package. Maybe in 50 years the nylon case might be bragging rights. Sort of depends upon how hard core a collector you are. Some collectors think they need all the original packaging. If that is the case, then get the $279 and the blister. If the blister is original, unopened, and not damaged for a display model that would be the way to go.

$279 though, doubt it will sell to anyone that is not a hard core collector. But my opinion seems to differ from the herd. Only thing I can say is to weight what is most important to you and how much you are willing to pay for one. You could wait until after winter too. People are bored, they want to shop in the winter months.

It all depends on how badly you want it.

I suspect that you don't really want it all that badly or you would have already snapped it up without asking for our opinion.  These days I have a policy that unless the "want-it-real-bad" feeling instantly over-rides the "is-it-really-worth-that-much" I wait for a while, and often find after waiting a while I decide I can do better things with that much money.

Of course YMMV, and we are supposed to be upholding the tradition of being enablers to other's addictions, so ........ do what you want.

The 25th Anniversary Wave looks really nice.  It would be a wonderful show piece for anyone.  I would go for both 25th and 20th Anniversary Models but I blew my budget yesterday on PST's.

If you do end up getting it, enjoy it Metro :tu:  I have to try to avoid looking at ebay and Amazon and anywhere else that tempts me with more MTs/SAKs.  Of course this place doesn't help either as you all give me ideas, but I enjoy it here too much to stay away

I would love to have like $2000 of free money to just be able to browse and pick up whatever I want without any worries.  I would very much enjoy a MT/SAK shopping spree >:D

Aye, this place addicts you to tools. Resistance is futile. :assimilate: You will be assimilated.

It's even sadder for me since I'm not even much of a handyman type, but I love MTs/SAKs regardless :D  Yes, I have been assimilated and there's no turning back :assimilate:

Can contribute 90% of multitool expansion, 99% to fondness of SAK, first MT mod to this forum - and Juli Warner is the one that sent me here. Makes me wonder...  >:D
Would say also that at least 35% of inspired ideas also can be contributed in exchange of ideas here as well.
