Ok I've seen this before with other sellers that I contacted about it. Instead of pulling the eBay add due to lack of inventory, the seller increases the price to where you won't buy it, they hope. If you do, they refund they money and carry on. It's just a way around the eBay system of charging for sales and such.

that makes so much sense it hurts. Damn you ebay, capturing my soul since 1999!!
Why stop now?

Then why not just say "zero left in stock?"  If you want to stop doing business, jacking up the price 20X doesn't make any sense.

Cos ebay doesn't let you list zero items.

It seems a bit daft, but if they let the item lapse then the history of how many they've sold lapses with it, their nice shop layout gets screwed up etc.

Makes perfect sense to me now that tattoosteve has pointed it out!
I used to come here a lot.
