More table time than pocket time...

I was taking care of some leather goods.

There can be a lot of things found under the binder of an old (80ies) Filofax...

After cleaning and some leather treatment:

Alox Bantam has been my only carry the last week or so .
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

I might be crazy but it's kept me from going insane- Waylon Jennings

Not the best but it cheap. I prefer grov portion but it cost twice as much

An episode of the "Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous"... ;-)

Normally I try not to show the Grov Portion in pictures but today it feels right. 246fmaU in pocket today.

@z1913: I must admit to being a little envious of that Singapore military Bantam.

@J2000E: I'd be petrified to carry that 246fmaU. It looks absolutely mint!

...snip...

I get that a lot regardless of which hobby/interest I am posting in. All the different collections I have are based on utility items. Things that were/are meant to be used. Earlier in my life I restored vintage cars, motorcycles, mopeds, mahogany runabouts, bicycles, and a lot of other things. And then when finished I hesitated to use them. They were too nice to use. It took away much of the joy.

Later in life I have concluded that life is too short to “save things for later”. Now, at 60, I use all my things as they were intended. But - there is a distinction between use and abuse. I do not wear a 50ies rose gold Omega Constellation de Luxe when chopping wood. Or a 246fmaU batoning.

Since I came to this philosophy, "use it while you can", I enjoy my collections on a totally new and better level.

Thank you Sir!

It was a good thing taking that picture today... When looking at it just now I see the Olight coming off its keyring! It would have been falling off very soon.

I guess it's kinda funny that I'd be reluctant to use a 65-year-old SAK, but would drive the wheels off a 65-year-old Jeep.
